3.3*** nothing special lots of the same ideas from lots of other dystopian novels, good writing though.
i thought this book was going to be more witch heavy but more than half the book was about her falling in love with a vampire who likes to be in charge in an annoying way ... the ending picked up again back to the witch business but too little too late. i started the second book bc i was hopeful that it would continue with the witch, heavy themes toward the end, but I'm 15% through a.m. this is not at all what I want from this series.. too many vampires, historical names and associations that get too complicated..
4.8 stars — loved this book! great pace, no helpless female character, has a good amount of heart & excitement
4.4 * – the story moved quick and lots happened & it was a great book!!!!
but i was getting some of the woe-is-me character trope that i dont always like, especially since the first book was mostly devoid of it.
4.5* great second book for the series, kept my interests up, realistic relationships between characters, loved it!
4.5 the book was written in a good pace and didnt drag on. really enjoyed the romance sprinkled in & how it didnt overpower the whole story line and i loved the surprise ending!
it was another great book (: the writing style ended up being a little different than the other two as the author switched to going to different character perspectives a lot which wasnt bad but i really wanted to get to the meat of the story since the story is that good & i was hanging on every last word every time the story switched back to the main character
*4.4- easy to read, realistic scenarios to think about if/when this type of water shortage were to occur, relatable characters.
probably better if you are a kid or teen reading it rather than an adult. felt like there was too much battle talk in the middle of the book... but overall good story.
once again, just like the first book - excellent writing! i felt like throughout the whole book, i could not put it down. Love the bigger dive into the different cultures & love stories..
love stories come to fruition in this book which i absolutely love but i thought more information on the actual battle at hand was going to be in the book so im sad to wait for the actual ending
loved the character development, storyline, love interests, & the authors style of writing where she trusts you to remember information about the new world you are reading about which i love. weaved information in perfectly.- overall a very enjoyable read
good book (: i loved the storyline & the characters, but felt like some wordings were repetitive but not enough to be annoying.
