It's a good premise, and the story its interesting, but I think it might be better appreciated by people familiar with Te Reo and Maori traditions and folklore. I sense that something was lost for me since I'm not that familiar with most of the Maori references.
This book is lovely, I generally don't like retelling of tales, but this was really well done.
This is more like 3.7. This is not an easy read. Some passages are beautifully written. Other seems to make no sense. Bu it still fits the narrative. It's more about senses than anything
I will miss this series. Some things are obvious and a bit frustrating, but was still a lot of fun.
It's a cute and entertaining book. It's almost a 4 star book. The only reason I won't give 4 it's because those kids seem to behave a lot older then they are supposed to be.
I had given 3 and half, but change it to 4, I just can't stop thinking about this book, and now I'm on book 2, and it's great.
