Blood Moon is different from the first book and stands on its own. I cannot wait for the third (hint, hint, huge hint).

Reaper Games has lots of action, intrigue, and some steam. I love Myla's tail and they have lots of input too. (chuckle) I'll be back for book three.

If you are looking for a clean, sweet, and funny romance then Heidi Shertok has provided one for you in Unorthodox Love. Penina has the worst luck when it comes to timing which supplies us with lots of chuckles. Then there is Sam's behavior which doesn't really come across as rude as the synopsis says, but definitely interested, then jealous, then abrupt when shut-off. Let's just say there are plenty of fun moments in this story.

I cannot say how much I love this story. If you can't pick which book to read from this combination of authors, pick this one. It is the best one.

I cannot say enough about this book. It is phenomenal!
The Papercutter is about growing up and standing on your own and how they may look like to you. It may not fit in with what you want it to look like and your friend may do it completely differently. It's the struggle to find the fight when you're scared. It's discovering what you really believe. I just love everything about The Papercutter.

The author gives us a really sweet, cute, and funny romance. I fell in love with both women. I have to be honest, I loved everything about this tale. I just want more and more.

I had no clue where Linda Castillo was leading us and I went willingly. Wow. Kate Burkholder has a busy little town and I am so glad I do not live in it.
I was surprised by where the mystery led and I love when that happens. I will warn readers that this is a dark story with darker twists. Castillo writes about a number of issues that women and cops deal with in the world and still makes the mystery a nail-biter.
Sometimes it's hard to write a review about a mystery without giving anything away because I don't want to spoil any reveals, but this is another great turnout from Castillo and Burkholder. I love the supporting cast. I will give one little spoiler: we do get to see the Tomasetti and Burkholder happy ending it took 15 books to get to.
Once again we have two survivors who are vastly different who are just trying to get somewhere, but they are not really sure where but definitely not here.
I'm thinking Fires has a bumpy and intriguing road ahead for us in this new series and I can't wait to read more of it.

If you need to be inspired or are feeling low, then look to these words in Great LGBTQ+ Speeches compiled by Tea Uglow. Every issue under the rainbow and beyond is addressed from prejudice, to loneliness, to rejection, to acceptance. These speakers face their bullies, family members, former friends, and strangers to share their feelings, facts, and hope for the future. You cannot help but feel uplifted as you read speech after speech. Uglow gives us a one-stop place to find great comfort and inspiration.
Great LGBTQ+ Speeches is a must have for every library whether it be personal, public, rainbow, or cis. History is showcased beautifully within these pages and is a must have.
Voices heard from athletes to scientists to artists to entertainers. We get their brief bio and then maybe a line or two about their rainbow identity. I think I like the activists bios the best because they are just regular people like you and me (not that athletes and entertainers aren't regular people), but they are making incredible steps forward for our freedoms - often at great cost for themselves. Thank you.
I have to say that the illustrations done by multiple artists are just gorgeous.
There is also a section to write down your own ideas. Terms that you should know and a little about GLAAD.
Rebel Girls Celebrate Pride is a quick and fun read. This is a great beginner's book and introduction to rainbows.
Andrea Rottmann addresses right away the difficulty of writing Queer Lives Across the Wall due to the limited public information of lesbians and transsexuals in history. This is not to say that Rottman doesn't do an excellent job of sharing stories and giving us glimpses into everyday life, party life, farm life, and urban life. Rottman takes us through it all.
I found it all very fascinating and mundane at the same time. I find “us” to be kind of boring - I say this as a rainbow. It's not as if we are creatures behind glass performing odd tricks. We just live our lives or attempt to in many cases whether in the past or in the present. From a sociological perspective, I love non-fiction biographies that look at lives in the past. What makes rainbow biographies and histories different is the type of bigotry and how we cope, adapt, and try to survive it.
Rottman gives a viewpoint of life in Germany where many were known to be “free”, but were they really? I gobbled this book up. It is a quick read with lots of information. If you love history, then add this Queer Lives Across the Wall to your list.
The Shadow Sister has several mysteries all tied within the larger mystery of Sutton's disappearance and Meade keeps readers hooked from page one to the very last word. I was enthralled. I can't wait to read more from Meade.

This is one book where I actually read the blurb. I was sold on the words “blistering,” “thriller,” “stunning showdown,” and “dangerous obsession.” Whomever wrote the blurb: kudos to you because you really promoted the story well. I wish the story lived up to the height of the adjectives and verbs used to describe the book. The story was good, but with none of the thrill advertised.

Beautiful Malady rips off the bandages and lets you see beyond the cover of politeness, society, and “the rules” to the raw feelings underneath. I love it for its honesty and the fact that it made me uncomfortable. It made me think. Art is supposed to do this and Bashe has created one heck of a Beautiful Malady.

Secrets abound in this tale as all gets slowly revealed throughout the unveiling of body after body. The cast of characters makes you wonder who to trust or even like in this town. I love it! I cannot wait to go back to Painters Mill and see who gets killed next. Kate Burkholder is a sheriff balancing both worlds and sometimes she drops the ball which makes things really interesting. I'm hooked.

The cast showcasing all of these themes is diverse and fantastic. Why is it that it is only in fiction that we find the friends we wish we could find in real life. I love who becomes Sav's core group. They are the best.

Only for Convenience is a great way to get ready for the June wedding season. I was rooting for Addison, Nova, and Aaron. Plus, I'm with Aaron, there should be a birthday somewhere everyday so we can eat cupcakes or brownies.

I love Holiday. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. I don't know whether I want her to stay in the habit or follow the private detective road, but either way I will follow her (chuckle now I can hear Sister Act (Dir. P. Rudnick, 1992) in my head).
