Hudson Lin once again gives us a diverse cast and even has one of her main characters on the sexuality spectrum (demisexual). As a demisexual myself, it is awesome to read a character that I can identify with in a romance. I am also pan which is represented by Lin's other main character, Ray. I love their romance.

Hudson Lin writes a deep romance filled with drama. I don't know why I am surprised, but I kinda of think of Carina Press to be our Harlequin or Silhouette Desire for queers. I gobbled the romances when I was a kid and have come to really enjoy Carina Press releases for that same good loving feeling.
This is not to say that Hard Sell does not provide that good loving feeling - it does. It is very deep and filled with business drama. What does a person do when the person they have to do business with is homophobic and possibly a pedophile. So glad I am not Daniel. Lin gives us a great insight into the drama of finance and investing. Add in burn-out and a second chance romance and it is no wonder Daniel keeps stepping on it. (chuckle)
I got this book from my library. I love my local library and you should check out yours too. Request LGBTQ+ books and they will stock them! #ebooksforall

A Cat-tastrophy feels more like it is a setup book for the next book. Katerina Degratte lays all kinds of easter eggs among the spider's lunch. There are no additional bad guys unless you want to look at Cat's employers as a villain too. (I do.)

Summer Nights With A Cowboy is a funny and sweet romance. Crews adds witty repartee and lots of self-deprecating humor. The flirtation between the outlaw and the sheriff is so much fun. I love Zack's reaction to Janie. I think it is hilarious how everything negative he thinks, Janie thinks is awesome. I was shaking my head more than once at their antics.

I like the premise of Bi-Furious. Chelsi Robichaud writes a true bisexual story where I did not know if Jess was going to end up with Rick or Lily as there is good solid chemistry between both couples. I thought the issues with Jess' realization that she is bisexual are solid.

Dr. Susan's Reign kicks off in the middle of a cat fight. I'm not sure if this is good or not. Katerina Degratte does get around to illuminating everyone about who is who and what is going on. It still left me feeling a little anchorless.

Frostbite is a really cute forced proximity romance. I love Morgan and Ezra together. I think the conversations were sharp and funny. I think the only question that never really got answered was what other types of monsters are out there if Morgan has never fought a vampire? His body is scarred from battles, and the fact that he fights monsters is spoken about, but what kind?
The chemistry between Morgan and Ezra is hot.
Dr. Stevie Dawn Carter gives us the six pillars of positive mindset in Always Be The Shark. Carter's advice is common sense and plain talking. The advice comes straight from their mother and you know what they say: Mom's always right. This motto jump started Carter onto a new path and as they explain how they moved ahead, they lay the path for you to follow.
The information is given informally as if you are having a conversation with Carter which makes it very palatable. None of the information is “new”, but I do like the delivery. Always Be The Shark is an easy read and to bookmark as I did. Advice sometimes given by someone else or given to us with a touch of humor like Carter does can propel us in another direction or further on the path that we have been stagnating on. As Carter's mother says, “Always be the shark!”

Annabeth Albert steps away from the military base while at the same time keeping it front and center in Sink or Swim. Calder is funny and loving the single life when he gets snowed in with Felix. I love the forced proximity storyline. Albert makes this even better by adding Felix's nieces. They make it easier for Calder to just be. I find this to be so true. You can dance around and act silly. Go down hills on a sled. Kids allow you to relive or live for the first time in your childhood. Albert brings this joy to life in Sink or Swim.

I thought when I read Duty Bound that I had gotten a glimpse into Lincoln and started to admire him. Christina Bauer sealed my fate, along with Lincoln and Myla's, in Lincoln. He has got all of these beautiful emotions that only we get to know and Myla gets to feel. If he got as mushy out loud as he does in his head, she wouldn't know what to do with it. We do. Keep reading because seriously who does not want a “Lincoln” for a partner.

Christina Bauer brings action and intrigue to Duty Bound the first in the “Angelbound: Lincoln” series. It is a prequel to the “Angelbound” series. We get to hear Lincoln's side of the story. For me, Duty actually makes Lincoln human to me and I respect him more as Myla's partner. He has a strong sense of morals and is willing to risk his life to save others.

Bluebird At My Window is...just wow. It is dark. Deep in the trenches of dark emotions and mental illness you will wallow. Breathing is in short pants. And windows close as you look feverishly for that stupid bird to bring you some light. Seriously dark stuff here folks. Dark and delicious.
The individual stories alone are absorbing, but put them together and you have Bluebird At My Window - a phenomenal jump into the deep end of trauma fiction.

Hot. Freydís Moon heats up the desert with some interesting shenanigans. I am trying not to give anything away, but it is so hard. Exodus 20:3 is a different kind of erotica and it gets steamy.
I really enjoyed Exodus 20:3. I love erotica with a twist and if you do too then this is right up your alley.

Marie Jones writes an easy to read and guess who the criminals are, but how Jones resolves it is what brings the suspense. I like the personal growth journey that Sophia goes on to come out stronger. Then there is the addition of a romance. Jones can write a swooning romantic line.
Overall, Those We Trust is a romance with heart melting times with PG kisses. Marcus can romance me anytime, but come to think of it Sophia can come up with some pretty smooth lines herself.

Fairy Promise is a cute and quick romance by Elizabeth Dunlap.
Bailey is always up for an adventure, but I have to say that her first meeting with Izzy is a hoot. Dunlap had me chuckling. Fairy Promise is fun and egg-dropping YA Romance. I know the warning says it is for adult audiences, but I didn't find anything too risque in the reading. Girl meets girl and tries to keep her. (chuckle)
As I said about the egg-dropping, lots of mysteries within this story to kick off Dunlap's new “A Bathory Universe” series. I hope Pixie Covers continues to design the covers because I love the look. Dunlap has laid the groundwork for the next adventure and I'm excited to see where it goes.

Janssen has laid the ground floor for what could be an exciting series about PTSD, life after war, human and non-human relations, and just personal relationships in general. I am excited to see whether refuge can be found after war for Talia, Miki, and Faigin. Finding Refuge is definitely just the beginning.

The MoonStone Girls is a journey back for Tracy as she looks upon her life. Brooke Skipstone gives us a heartbreaking yet empowering heroine in Tracy. Skipstone kept me engaged throughout Tracy's story and the other characters. It is a rollercoaster of emotion that at the end you don't know if you want to get off because damn what a ride.

You don't have to have read any book in the “Driven World” series to enjoy Dead Heat. I haven't read any and I gobbled up this romance. Aves gives us a great chemistry and repartee with Sunny and KC. I liked the suspense. Dead Heat is a quick read romance that can get your engines started. (chuckle).

Cade Haddock Strong tackles what happens after the glory in this sports tale. Karla has spent her entire life skiing, training to ski, eating to ski, curbing her entire life to ski. Then she does not make it to the U.S. Ski Team. That's okay because there is a backup plan as she is going to go to college and ski for them. Then in an instant all of that changes. What happens after you can't compete anymore? I love sports and the dedication and training that goes into any sport. I kind of relate to the feelings Karla has as I am disabled Veteran who used to do biathlons. Strong nails the emotions and frustrations that Karla experiences. I love her personal growth story.

I love a Jayce Ellis romance. DeShawn and Malik are soooooo hot together. If You Love Something is so steamy it should melt in your hands like chocolate. It is that good.
Ellis gives us an old-fashioned second chance romance. I love If You Love Something for DeShawn and Malik, Grandma, and of course the path of their true love.

Refiloe Moahloli brings diversity and friendship together in I Am You: A Book About Ubuntu. The flow of words rolls off the tongue. The joining of friends of different races as they perform different tasks shows unity and the innocence of childhood.
Zinelda McDonald's use of color and contrast will keep your kids engaged. I wish more characters had been non-white. I only saw one character at the end in a habib and it felt kind of tacked on. I will say that it is hard to gauge by just looking at a person what race or nationality they are, so there could be a plethora of different regions represented.
I enjoyed the overall message of the book. I think this is a book that all children should read.

T.B. Markinson gives us a sweet-clean romance in The Proposal. Markinson continues her romance with London. This time around we are touring the city and looking at Charles Dickens, Shakespeare, and Markinson throws in pirates too. Her love for the city shows through in this foot tour where we get to learn not only the history of London, but of some of the authors who influence us today.

The romance in And Then She Kissed Me is one of redemption and second chances. Bliss gives Devon the opportunity to live all of her girlhood dreams with her best friend Sadie. Bliss gives us first kisses, comfortable laughs, and heat. The supporting cast is funny and there are mentions of characters from previous books.
And Then She Kissed Me is a second chance romance for those who crushed on their best friend in high school and always wanted to get the girl.

Mx. Sally Bend gives us an erotic filled story in Transformed by the Beast. I gotta say that I just loved it. The synopsis tells you everything you need to know. Bend just fleshes it all out with true love and some really steamy scenes. I love these types of stories and just gobble them up like candy and can reread them, bookmark my favorite passages, and return to them again and again. Bend has made it very easy because there are lots of hot moments to bookmark. I love the emotional submission. I love the steam. There just isn't really anything I don't love about Transformed by the Beast.
