Mary Stone and Lori Rhodes have a hit with this cast. I really like them. It also helps that I didn't guess the killer yet again. The mysteries are solid and the leads are all logical and well thought out.

The mystery is quick and easy. I didn't guess the killer. I like the beginning of Cate and Henry's relationship. I look forward to the friendship between Cate and Tessa. The bigger mystery of their missing friend, I hope ends up being really good.

A completely different adventure for our Vivian.
Liz Faraim doesn't take us on a mystery tour this time, but an emotional journey for Chastain. There is lots of heartache and angst in Concussion and Contentment. Chastain deals with her PTSD from her military career, her childhood, and her latest mishaps. Unfortunately for Chastain, her actions in the last year are coming back to bite her in the butt. This does lead to new opportunities, but to get there she has to go through some pain.

Turning Two is my favorite story of the three in Queen Vs. Queen. It could just be that I love veterans (chuckle). Either way, Hagan nailed the assignment.
If you are looking to check off the Ice Queen category for any of the reading challenges, pick this anthology because you can't go wrong here.

I don't want to give anything away, but I am wondering if part of Carlee's problem is the Eighth-Grade killer. The killer already took something from her which they should not have been able to get, so is it possible that they are interfering with other things too?

This Delicious Death is a young adult diverse horror story with laughs, zombies, music, and first love. I don't think I have a favorite character and that includes the voice of the story Zoey. Zoey may tell the main part of the story, but each of the girls play a central part of the whole. It wouldn't be delicious without them.

If you are looking for inspiration this is a great reference book of women leaders who have succeeded where many have not. Stephanie MacKendrick gathers a wide spectrum of biographies and details their hard work and dedication to get elected.

The stories are told in all of their voices and from their viewpoints in the war. Carrillo picks certain days and we get glimpses into their lives at those moments. Moments that changed how their journeys moved forward. It is engaging and quick. Carillo doesn't stick with one character long, but quickly moves between them all keeping everything fresh.
Obviously, this is not a story of joy, but it is so worth reading.

Archenemy is a great addition to the Angelbound series. It contributes to the adventure and adds another layer to Xavier and Camilla's love story. So far we have seen their journey through other's eyes and for the first time we get it directly from Xavier.

The writing was on the wall with the outcome of the plan. I do not know how anyone could not see it going in any other direction. This is not to say that Faraim doesn't make it interesting. There is some romantic angst along the way. We get to meet a new love interest who I really like.

I loved Mr. and Mrs. Smith (Dir. D. Lyman, 2005). My favorite genre is bantering and if you throw in a little ka-boom along the way all the better. Gwenda Bond capitalizes on their success and adds lots of heat too.

The mystery is good. I didn't guess the killer until Armstrong told us. The group is fun and interesting. I really liked this story. I hope there is a sequel because there are still some answered questions.

Lucky To Be Yours is all heat and I so needed this romance. Ellie and Reese meet with the same intentions. Then they move on...well, if only fate would let them (chuckle). I mean this in a totally good way too as each time they meet some kind of action follows (wink).
O'Connor once again nails a holiday romance (remember the last one made my Best of the Year list). I think this series should become a staple because it definitely gets me ready for the holidays.

Bicoastal is a mind trip. This is the first time I am reading a parallel universe story and Dahlia Adler kept me hooked in both realities.
Adler gives us two diverse sweet and sometimes a little hot romances in one story. You gotta love that - I definitely do.
