Beautifully written and incredibly engaging, this book had a magnetic pull I couldn't resist. It was one of those rare reads where I kept telling myself, ‘Just one more page...'—only to realize I'd flown through chapters. A truly compelling story that made it hard to put down.
Children of Time has a fascinating premise and some truly intriguing moments, especially the evolution of the civilization. But overall, the pacing felt too slow for me. The good parts didn't last long enough to keep me fully engaged. Great ideas — just not as gripping as I hoped.
Heart Lamps is an absolutely incredible book, and it’s easy to see why it won the Booker Prize. The stories are beautifully written and completely captivating. As a Muslim myself, from a more liberal background, this book opened my eyes to a different perspective—one where women are constantly at a disadvantage. It’s powerful, thought-provoking, and deeply moving. I highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed this book. The idea was so unique and interesting. The stories were emotional and made me feel connected to the characters. A beautiful and memorable read.
I'm writing this review with tears streaming down my face on the train (tip: don't read this in public). Paul's writing is so powerful that I felt like I was living his life alongside him. I've been struggling in my own life, and this book gave me hope—that one day, everything I've done will be worth it, no matter how others see it.
