“Important strength is... but weakness, too.. and failure. Part of the journey they are.” - You're truly never too old to learn from ever wise, Master Yoda
the found family of it all. also vi and cardinal's relationship is so close to my heart. the way they cared for and opened up to each other despite the heavy trauma between them. they are something truly special.
Wait! Am I crying?!
This is book is cute, funny, and a little sad and I love it. The illustrator's art style is gorgeous.
4.5 ⭐️ // Love this series as a deep dive into Obi-Wan's character and how far his passion to help goes but can my heart take another 16 or so these
I loved this! A nice short fantasy story. I immediately got into the story and the illustrations are so beautiful that I stayed on a page for a while after I finished reading it. Though it's geared towards children I think everyone would enjoy this light read. I'd love to read more books like this!
Great choice for combating election/ general life fatigue. This is a very grounding read that helped restore focus and inspiration for protecting our democracy.
I'm at the time of year where I can't manage a full sized novel so yes I will be devouring all the holiday theme smut novellas, thank you very much.
And Scream For Us very much hit. The mmcs Ghostface, Jason, and Michael (who honestly is my fave) are the perfect (for me) level of possessive and absolutely unhinged while being surprise consent kings. Very refreshing tbh lol.
Quinn is a really enjoyable fmc as well. I love how we meet her in the midst of her stepping out of her comfort zone by going to this party. By the end of the book, she gains a whole new comfort zone with the help of the guys. Love that for her
3.5 ✨
Really love the thriller story line! I honestly had no idea where it would go and it kept me reading which is a good thing because Enzo Vitale is so beyond infuriating! And he brought of the worst in Sawyer so I couldn't take her most of the time either. But all in all a great thriller and I'm looking forward to reading my next H.D. Carlton.
This book broke my heart and then started to put me back together again. It was not at all how I imagined it to be and I'm so glad. This book made me think about myself of some of the thoughts I have at times. It showed me both sides of how one decision can affect many people. It's definitely something I needed to read. I'll be buying my own personal copy very soon I'm sure, this is something I know I'll want and have to read again.
Umm... well that ending was something alright. Plot-holey and rushed as hell but interesting? I'm thinking this review might be a bit harsh. So the book started out as a really action packed adventure type story which I enjoyed. Robots are a new theme to me and I was really intrigued by how they came to know their true identities. However the revelations and the extreme violence surrounding them quickly got old. On the topic of violence towards the characters, there was so much of it and so extreme that bordered on unnecessary and senseless. It seemed like the author just decided to throw everything into the pot. Like I said in one of my updates - anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. It honestly left me with a bad taste in my mouth.
Around page 300, I started zoning out real bad like I just didn't care. I spent much of the last part of the book asking “who?” “what?” “who's pov is this?!” and “what happened to those other characters that were introduced earlier?”. Due how opened ended it is, I'm assuming there will be a sequel and since I came out this book with no attachment to any of the characters, adverse to the violence, and confused over the plot and general writing style of the book, I think I'll skip it.
The two main characters are great, with really fleshed backstories and personal goals and they're understanding and caring together as a couple.
However they both suffer from the “I know exactly what you feel about me and what you want out of this relationship so I'm not even going to bother actually talking to you before making (multiple) drastic decisions that effect us both and let that miscommunication guide how we feel about each other” syndrome.
It's tiresome but I liked them too much as a couple to not see how it ended. All around really good story. Also HORSES!
2.5 - 3 ⭐️
My kingdom to never hear the words “there she is” ever again.
Interesting concept and writing style but the characters are beyond frustrating, specially Oraya. If listening to reason was a disease, she'd have it.
I'm finding I have a really low tolerance for insufferable bull headed MC's who are still barking at each other 200 pages in these days.
P.S. New enemy spotted: Audible exclusive audiobooks. Talk about a commitment. It's... not great
This book is a feast! In her book, I'm Judging You: The Do-Better Guide, Luvvie Ajayi covers a healthy handful of various and important topics ranging from body image to homophobia, social media behavior to sex tapes and so much more. I agreed with so much of her insight and gained life tips and a confidence boost as well. How can you beat that?!
If you can, try and listen to the audiobook as well. Luvvie's warm voice and tell it like it is personality make you feel like your having a deep convo with one of your closest best friends. Perfect book for the new year.
screaming ITS A LITERAL PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE! A LITERAL OH GOD
