Lots of smut, but it was enjoyable to read. Didn't enjoy the end, it bumped it down a star because of it.
ARC Reader Review:
The ending is what bumped this from 3 stars to 4.
The beginning was a bit difficult to read through, the world building is there and the concept of the story as a whole is incredibly interesting; however, I feel like it read like a fanfiction due to some spelling errors and oddly worded sentences, which took me out of it (ex. signed instead of sighed).
I signed up for the ARC for the cozy vampire romance, but stayed for the sassy banter and slow-burn between the FMC and MMC.
The last 100 pages made me unable to put the book down. I would be looking forward to a sequel to this, if there might be one 👀
I feel like if they communicated better, most of the issues wouldn't have happened. Also, I cannot believe someone would throw away 20 years of a friendship over a guy who she DIDN'T EVEN LIKE... The ending felt very unsatisfying to me.
So different from the show, but I did enjoy it. I just thought some of the characters could be more fleshed out, and it is very Elena-centric. Also, there's no diversity in this book; it seems like everyone is perfect and skinny, with blond hair and blue eyes.
Didn't love how misogynistic the men in the book are. Also, wasn't a fan of the sex scene thrown in there. Seemed like a bad time and place for it, and NO FOREPLAY? OR CONDOM? The last line of the book gave me chills though.
