Most mature and healthiest relationship I have ever read about.
The small town feelings and autumn vibes were perfect and I really loved the atmosphere, it makes me want to go out hiking and camping and just spend time in the nature.
Let me tell you - the slowburn in this book is absolutely everything, there were so many good moments between Rhodes and Aurora and I enjoyed every single one of them.
There where some instances were Aurora seemed 10 years younger than she actually was, but it kind of made sense in regard of her past.
The only thing that I wasn't really a fan of was something that happened in the end, which has already been discussed and resolved before (same problem, different time) It was when her ex showed up, because we've already been through that with the his mother, wasn't necessary
Also the inner monologue sometimes got a bit repetitive and annoying, but this could be because I read the book in one day.
Very cute, fluffy and steamy romance!
The only thing I didn't enjoy was the miscommunication in the end, it felt forced and could have been done differently.
I wasn't invested in the story or the characters or the world. Also there was no chemistry between the MCs.
This book wasn't as twisted and scary as I hoped it would be. Still a captivating and addictive read, although some things did not make sense at all. Why wouldn't Verity write a disclaimer in the beginning of the manuscript or talk to Jeremy about the new writing exercise? Also no doctor or specialist or nurse could tell that she was faking her injuries for months? No one was even a little bit suspicious - seems weird to me.
The twist didn't really shock me because I kind of anticipated it (of course not exactly but in a similar way). I still liked the twist, but the way the author explained it felt anticlimactic the letter was too detailed, too long and I didn't have to figure out anything by myself
In the end the reader still doesn't know what is the truth and what is the lie, which I personally enjoyed, but this open ending definitely isn't for everyone.
My favourite book of all time!
I personally loved this book even more than The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, I can't particularly pinpoint why, but I fell in love with the characters to an extend that I haven't experienced before. After fifty pages I already cried (and again, never happened to me before) and the crying practically didn't stop throughout the whole book.
I have never read about love and heartbreak and grief in the way Taylor Jenkins Reid wrote about it in this book. And I am so thankful she did because it really gave me a different perspective on certain aspects of life, as cheesy as it sounds.
The whole book felt like the prologue.
I feel very unenthusiastic about the world, characters and plot of the story, there was no big twist, the world didn't feel immersive and two of the four POV weren't very interesting to read. Nevertheless, the writing and pacing was good.
In the beginning Elliot and Macy gave me major Atlas and Lily (from It Ends With Us) vibes and I absolutely loved it!
For me it was a fun and fast read but not anything special. I adored the description of the Italian food/ingredients (because I absolutely love Italy and its food) and appreciated the ambience of Sicily the author created or rather captured.
But the main character Emilia was kind of dumb sometimes and also a little boring. I would've loved the characters to be a little more fleshed out and maybe have chapters in Wraths POV. Also it was lacking in worldbuilding and again I would've enjoyed a little bit more of the “witchy stuff”. The plot wasn't very interesting (I didn't really care) but the ending definitely got me hooked on the next book.
Nevertheless it was an enjoyable read and I would recommend it.
Wanted to see more cute domestic moments between Chase, Alex and the girls, because I absolutely adored them! <3333
If I had one word to describe this book, it would be disappointing.
After recently finishing the whole Off-Camus and Briar U series, I was very excited to read this novella and dive back into these characters and their relationships, which were so lovable and pure. I knew I couldn't expect just a feel-good story and just cute domestic moments, because of a early review I read, but still it was very disappointing.
The characters did not feel like themselves and some definitely acted out of character several times. The conflicts were mostly unnecessary and some of the plot from the original books were brought back and reused. When the story and the people didn't aggravate me, I was just bored.
The only novella that I liked (and I use this word loosely) was the one about Dean and Allie. Especially the scene where Dean practiced his proposal in front of Graham and Logan.
So now I pretend that this book does not exist, except for the few scenes that I enjoyed.
This book just left me unsatisfied.
In the beginning, the main character Lucy really annoyed me, she acted like a teenager and was just really immature. After the first part I eventually did get into it, I especially enjoyed the dialogue and the dynamic between Lucy and Joshua. There where several cute moments, and some tropes that I had fun reading about.
But after I finished it, I thought to myself, this isn't the end right? There has to be more. I didn't think this because I was sad that the story ended or that I wanted more of these characters. No, it was because the conflict in the ending was very week and practically non-existent. Call me dramatic but I really did want to see more drama and conflict, also I would have appreciated to dive deeper into Lucy's and especially Josh's past. The ending was in my opinion rushed, anticlimactic and unsatisfying.
My favourite book of the Fulton U series! Throughout the whole series I was anticipating to finally read JL and Marisa's story, and it didn't disappoint.
The friends to lovers trope was beautifully done, the tension, the deep emotional connection since childhood, the should we/should we not... I could go on and on.
LJ's and Marisa's backstories were thought out and gave important depth to the characters, leading me to understand the decisions they made along their way. I particularly enjoyed the complicated relationship between Marisa and her Dad, liked how it progressed and even got emotional at the end of the book because of it.
The only thing that bugged me was the weird scene after they first hooked up, (Both were virgins but they went at it like bunnies?!?! It was very unrealistic and weird to read) and minor miscommunication, or rather no communication at all.
Loved Thomas Cresswell but I'm not sure if I want to continue with this series.
Though the main character always gets praised what a smart and clever lady she is, I found her rather dumb and naïve, on the other hand, she is only 17 years old (and I was probably even more stupid at this age). It was very predictable but I still enjoyed how the ending turned out, I was even a little scared towards the end.
The plot and characters weren't good and I absolutely hated the ending, it made me cringe so hard. But the steamy scenes were hot as f*ck and that's also the only reason I read this book.
