I fell in love with this series from the very beginning and loved how much each character matured as it went along. I also loved that even though Natsu and Kajitsu were the main characters of the story, you do get to see glimpses of lives of the supporting cast and see how they are changing and maturing as well. Very beautifully done. The ending was so well played out too. Best of all when Satsuki told Kajitsu that she was certain that Kajitsu was the “signpost of the family” which honestly made me want to cry. It was so cute. Seriously, this is one shojo manga I will definitely recommend to others. :)
Josephine, a unique butterfly, and an unexpected adventure.
I bought the kindle edition of this tale. This story has such a wonderfully unique art style that compliments a wholesome tale of a lost child returning home, yet with a cute adventure along the way. The ending is like a perfect cherry on top. I would definitely recommend it for parents to share with their young readers.
This story is just absolutely adorable! Sampson is a wonderful little narrator with lots of love for Halloween. You really feel like you're right there with him as you follow along. The art on each page is great and perfectly cute for this tale. Expressions are great on both tge people and on Sampson. Plus who doesn't love a little spider that's proud of his web work haha All-in-all this is the perfect Halloween story for your little one.
There is so much good that can be said when it comes to this webtoon. The artwork and storytelling synergize so beautifully to really capture the essence of what is being told. A lot of the story revolves Rari and Hansol, two people battling with their grief over losing loved ones. Two people who accidentally end up in each others lives.
The story really builds these two up in such a beautiful way. It shows their pain. It shows their happiness. It shows how easy it can be to trigger one's depression from a place, a memory, a smell. It shows how easy it can be to fall deep into the dark... and how hard it is to let someone lead you to the light... to a happier time.
There is angst. There are dark tones through it all. Yet the story is so beautiful, the art capturing every bit of it, that it is well worth the read.
This was a wonderful read. From start to finish you're getting to see multiple people's lives weave and flow through one another. Their love, their hate, their worries, their joys, all of it coming together. Amidst all of this is an amazing author showing us each side. The story between two people who aren't on good terms that try to do their best for their goddaughter. The story of a couple starting a new life in a fixer-up home. The story of new accidental friends finding a way to trust each other and leave their toxic homes. Those stories are just at the forefront. Seeing the smaller stories come in from all their interactions. Not many can pull this off. Yet InuShin did it with the powerful yet delicate touch each of these stories needed.
Highly recommend this book to any avid readers.
Amazing!
Move over Agatha Christie, we got ourselves a new mistress of suspense! I have read so many mystery and suspense stories in my life. This one, however, had me on the edge of my seat with every page. The constant questioning of “who is the real antagonist” as the story goes was so refreshing! I haven't had a mystery keep me from figuring it out in so long! If I could I'd give this book 10 stars haha The characters are all so well created and well rounded. Our three main protags are so heavily relateable in one way or another. The way the author portrays trauma responses, death, loss, and determination are so amazingly well done. I could honestly go on and on about this book haha I definitely suggest any mystery and suspense lover give this book a chance. Justina Luther has created such an amazing story
I truly wish I could buy a physical copy of this. This story is so phenomenally well done. The characters have so much depth to them as you read. Not to mention a wonderful ending. Will likely read this again and again on the webtoon app until the day that maybe there will be a physical version (which i'd also devour over and over again) :D
“Counting Memories” a phrase that comes up many times in the story and honestly this phrase says a lot about the story. It is a beautiful tale that gives such insight to another's world through the telling of the memories they have kept.
I listened to the audiobook version of this story. Hearing the emotion, the weaving of memories as we jump around this timeline... It was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. I normally can't focus on a story with a jumping timeline but this one was told in such a way that it held my attention for every step. Some memories spoken of certainly hit stronger than others but all are worth the listen. I don't have any words that can really do this story justice. I just wish I could give this story more stars.
It's beautiful. Its emotions feel raw and true. It is worth every second it takes to listen along or to read. Truly. I greatly recommend this book to anyone looking for a new read.
Just as its prior book, Sabriel, Lirael is a phenomenal story. However, where Sabriel can practically be read as a stand-alone, Lirael is the beginning tale in a bigger story.
Lirael has grown up as the “black sheep” of the Clayr and desperately wants to fit right in. While other daughters of the Clayr commonly have blond hair, she has darker black hair. While they have the Sight, an ability to see in the future, she does not. As each year goes she feels as though she may never be a true Clayr.
But after a few particular incidents, it becomes obvious she is much MORE than just a daughter of the Clayr. She is a wonderfully written protagonist with such a complex personality. She is relatable and strong and yet also delicate. She and the Disreputable Dog become the most amazing duo as time goes through the story.
On the flip side of this adventure is Prince Sameth. The Abhorsen-In-Waiting who would rather tinker and create things than walk in his mother, Sabriel's, footsteps. All thanks to a very frightening and traumatizing experience in Death while trying to save people he cares about.
The paths of Prince Sameth and Lirael cross as the story unfolds. All in a well-rounded story.
Every chance I had, I devoured the pages of this book... and then whimpered as the book ended.
This book was so well illustrated. The character's expressions were wonderful. Their personalities were wonderfully shown and written. The story was absolutely adorable. The ending, slightly predictable but well played out all the same.
All-in-all, I ate this book up and was happy with how it turned out.
Following the events of Lirael in this book. Practically right after.
Prince Sameth, Mogget, Lirael, and the Disreputable Dog are all teamed up. Prince Sameth has learned he is meant to be the next Wallmaker, the major creators within this world. While also learning that Lirael is actually his aunt, a surprise to her as well, as she is Sabriel's half-sister. Lirael, also, is the true Abhorsen-In-Waiting. Which is a great relief to Sameth.
The two of them head out further on their journey, accompanied by the two Free Magic beings (Mogget and the Disreputable Dog) that are charter bound. They are trying to save Nicholas Sayre, a close friend of Sameth's, and stop an ancient power from being freed.
The characters, the story, the twists, and turns... I loved all of it. Every bit.
This series has yet to let me down.
This series continues to be so powerful. Each new story in it just continues to captivate me. Seeing Lirael, Sameth, Nicholas, Sabriel, and Touchstone again has been so wonderful.
So this book is just a masterpiece. Plain and not so simple. We are getting multiple fronts of an ongoing battle against who else but Chlorr of the Mask back for more dangerous power. Starting off the tale with none of our initial protagonists but a new member in form of Ferrin. As the story goes, Ferrin's journey becomes heavily intertwined with Lirael's, tying her to our main group. On the other end, Lirael's journey starts with her collecting Nicholas from across the wall.
Yet, despite the jumps between perspectives I didn't ever feel lost at what was happening. In fact, it was the opposite. I felt completely immersed in the story. From start to finish I was there reading and existing within as if seeing each thing happen right in front of me.
There are hints of new romances blooming in this story but those hints do not in any form take away from the overall story. In fact, they add nice touches that help it along.
I absolutely recommend this book to any who have been reading the Old Kingdom series thus far. If you haven't... well please pick up the other stories first or much of this one won't make sense.
