talented, brilliant, incredible, amazing, show stopping, spectacula

cool concept in theory, but ended up being kind of boring and weirdly paced

The worst thing is that so many things were new to me, not because I didn't notice, but because I simply accepted them as the way things are.

Even the stupid crash test dummies? How hard can it be to make female crash test dummies?

the worst book to read in a reading slump because the world building and the plot are convoluted and confusing as hell - but the ending was amazing and the premise was so creative and cool that I will just ignore the fact it took me almost a month to actually read

Then I discovered the fun one can get in conquering these odd worlds, subjugating the inhabitants, getting them to fear and worship you. It's a real laugh.

I'm not one for kinkshaming, but garden gnomes??

This book surprised me so much, because not only was it an amazing read, it was consistently, from beginning to end, FUN! I can't remember the last time I was so thoroughly and continuously invested from the first chapter on.

First Kill being adapted this year are the best news of 2020

The first half was really boring and the second half really thrilling. I didn't love the ending though, it was weirdly abrupt.

make this into a show now please

the ending broke me I am devastated

I am officially obsessed. this book was the best thing I experienced this ridiculous and awful year and I will read everything Tamsyn Muir writes, 10/5 Stars, will read again, probably more than once.

Young humans can be impulsive. The trick is to keep them around long enough to become old humans.

Not one, but two sarcastic AIs trying to keep suicidal humans alive, all that I needed today!

Nine year old me had nightmares for days just because of this cover

It is astonishing, in the end, how difficult it is to know the things you know. What I mean is that all I had discovered was everything I knew all along.

I agree with Grady Hendrix that the scariest things in the world aren't monsters, it's patriarchy and white privilege. But a little less desperate housewives and more vampires would've made this way less a chore to get through.

Galadriel being constantly annoyed at her conscience and strong moral compass is peak entertainment and I relate to her a lot.

I am in so much pain this ending broke me

Jude singlehandedly carried the first two thirds of the book, because the weird bully school romance thing did nothing for me, but the last third was really fun to read and I look forward to the rest of the series.

Well-written villains with a fleshed out personality > boring one-dimensional heroes any day.

Sometimes you just read a book that pushes all your buttons, and mine are lesbian necromancers solving riddles and kicking ass apparentely. Not that I'm surprised by that.

16 yo me was a dumbass apparently
