From The Shaping of Things to Come to this most recent work, Michael Frost challenges Christians to remember that we follow a weird weird Jesus. We should at every turn resist the urge to conform to the church or society when they are not acting in love.
Totally agree with some of the classic places to visit (Angelina, Laduree) but unfortunately some of the more obscure recommendations of shops and cafes don't exist anymore. This book needs an updated version!
Wow. This was so good. I'm sad that I'm done. I got it thinking it might be a fun read (and it was!,) but it also turned out to have some deep wisdom. And I was so surprised by just how many huge historical figures from pop culture to politics showed up! I feel inspired to live my life to the fullest! And I kinda wish I could be friends with Bono. Seems like a great guy.
So many beautiful moments. Full of vulnerability. I also really enjoyed the short essay format. It made it easy to pick up and put down and I came to look forward to my little snippets of reading at the end of long, monotonous pandemic days. I just moved to Berlin, so this book had added appeal for me–a reminder that I have chosen to live in a complex and remarkable city.
Breathtaking insights into America's ongoing identity crisis. Still completely relevant critiques of the current political order and the failure to recon with our past and to end white supremacy.
Funny and heartfelt. A reminder of the power of family and friends coming together through real challenge.
Many helpful tips and also–bonus–funny!

Deeply inspiring account of a singular life told by someone who really knew and loved him well.
Be prepared to have things you always took for granted called into question. It's an exciting and challenging read!
A book I'm sorry to finish. I've been reading it whenever I could find time so eager to learn what would happen to the characters I came to care so much about!
