I knew it will be intense but omg. How. I'm so in love with the characters and I can't believe all the things that happened in just one book. And the end?? Please I need context, I need explanations asap. This is just too much.
Btw, Ridoc has won my heart on this book. He's the perfect buffon but not to the point that gets uncomfortable.
I just have one big thought. If Vi doesn't accept him again she will be just downright stupid. And that person being on the freaking last page. Omg. I thought I would never meet him but here we are. I'm so glad and so mad because I didn't now this is the first of five books when I already need the next one. And to them to be happy and alive.
It's so lovely! I've played D&D and this is the kind of things I would love to do with my character, if I could narrate her life after her adventures.
I like it better than the first one, but maybe that's because the first half of the Fireborne was a bit too slow for my liking. I can't wait to start the next one. It's interesting how political terms that we all have studied in one way or another, come to life with something as fantastical as dragons.
I can't give it 5 starts because the end was a bit sour for me. I love it. From the start to the end, I've loved it, maybe it's my favourite from all the books I've read this summer. I need to recommend it to everyone.
Now, the part with spoilers>
For a hot second I thought Delos and Griff would end apart and I was ripping my hair about how stupid was being Griff. Seeing them as a family with the children in the very end
The end????? I can't wait for the Fjerdan plot but really, again, Ravka, why?? Not sure if I like it or not, thankfully the next book is already waiting for me.
It's the best book of angels and demons that I had read. Now, I'm reading this book for five time, I think. It has action, love, diferents emotions...have a lot. I love it
Amazing. I love how Leigh is expanding the universe without making it bored. Because I've watched the series first, I can see how they changed the actual plot. I just hope we get the other characters on the second season because I need Wylan on the show asap. What a glorious little big brain <3
I've read this saga because I didn't have anything else and because I read a tweet talking about the books when talking about how netflix always cancel their series with a lgtb+ protagonist.
If I'm sincere, I have mixed feelings with the books. The plot was very promising. It really has everything. But the writing style is pretty bad, meh at best. I'm not a fan of the books written in first person, and that I've read a Spanish version, but even without that, it felt weird. Like, I've read fics with better narrative than this.
Also, the end? It remembered me a lot to the end of THG, but darker and sadder. I couldn't not cry with it. Idk, I feel Nathan deserved better than that. It's pretty cruel that Annelise had a better end than him.
The good point for these books is the complexity of the characters. I enjoyed their development, their motivations. I just wish they could be better written.
I really enjoyed all the book except the end. A bit rushed, lack of explanations. Funny how all the secondary characters have better closed endings than the protagonists. And thank god the worst ones have what they deserve. Now I want an spinoff with Valentina and her home.
Anyways, it's a great story. I'm just not the biggest fan of the open endings.
