I had straight anxiety reading this. With that being said... I loved this book so much!

The voice of the male lead ain't it. I'll wait to get the physical copy instead 😭

I couldn't get into the story at all, and the story was moving very slow. 

Not really into witchy books right now

Main character is annoying, and unjustifiably rude. No point in continuing since I don't even like the plot.

I couldn't understand the overall story about the war. I didn't want to DNF yet but I was starting to force myself to finish. 

This book is ass. The FMC is INSUFFERABLE, and the writing is just painful to follow. 

Will revisit in the new year 

I will come back to this for sure. Just not feeling the story right now. :) 

This is one of those books that shouldn't have been written in verse... 

IT FINALLY HAS A RELEASE DATE!!! OCTOBER 12!!!!

I immediately got Queenie vibes and against my better judgement kept reading. 

I made it 0.4 PERCENT. Which is 1 minute and 33 seconds before a transphobic comment was made. Immediate DNF. 

“You could marry a women who used to be a man” this was said VERY derogatorily. 

Ew. Completely unnecessary. 

I just got to a point where I didn't care for the characters and then the story as a whole. 

I think I need to read this in order to enjoy it properly. I feel like with the audiobook I'm missing too much detail. 

Will get back to. It's good so far, but I'm not in the mood right now. 

I'm going to pick this back up, but I'm not really in the mood for this type of story. 

Just couldn't keep my interest at all. 

I feel like the story drones on, and could have been wrapped up in 100 pages or even less with a happy ending. 

Will get back to later. Not feeling the story right now, but still very interested overall. 

This is a super soft DNF. I will be back but I just not interested right now! 

Update - Yea this is a hard DNF now 💀. As a retelling the author didn't add anything of substance (any ✨pizzazz✨) that would keep me interested especially since it feel like a retelling of the Disney version, and not the true story of Mulan as it was marketed to readers. Which is super unfortunate. TLDR; I'm just bored reading it.

Made it about 30 pages in (in two days), and I can tell it's just not a good read for me. I'm not sure if it's the writing that's just hard for me to get through or what.
