it's been a while since i've read such a good duology that i can't shut up about the crows and the journey i've just lived with them.
it's quite literally my comfort group of people, the way they're contrasting personalities fit each other so well; they're so complementary. the humor that jesper brings, the fierce teasing nina brings, the crazy skill that i just can't stop admiring kaz for, the determination of mattias. the way wylan develops as a character and his love for chemistry resonates with my love for the subject as well. it's just, i love this book and the crows so so much. it feels like a family to me, i care about them so much that they're so real to me and i can't let them go and it's such a bummer this is where it ends.
the way leigh set me through high ups and downs throughout the book. i cried with them as much as i laughed with them. truly a masterpiece and it couldn't have been executed better. i loved seeing how each character opened up and their development. it was so perfect holy shit, they adapted and survived like one would in the barrel.
mattias surprised himself by doing things he never would've. i don't think my words are enough to appreciate what this book has made me feel. i'll carry the mark of this duology throughout. i've been made to protect this series
i just love this book so much, i felt like i literally just lived through everything with them. leigh, you're a goddess of writing and this is truly a masterpiece and i loved every single second of it.
the dynamics, the chemistry, THE PLOT LIKE YESSJEBRNSNJDNDJDJDJDD. I CANNOT WAIT TO FINISH THE DUOLOGY.
truly beautiful, i loved every character and every single duo. i loved the complexity of each character and how they came to be. it was just so perfect and i love this book so so much and i'll be rereading this for the rest of my life

I saw foreplay and decided i just can't read this book anymore. WTFF WAS THAT LESSON PLAN LMAO STOP THIS IS SO CRIGNESGIO. It's seriously not my cup of tea because i HATE erotica books with a burning passion and I was so dissapointed finding out this has that stuff gn.
It's not just the erotica that irked me. The way they interact with one another, it's just off putting. The parents are just horribly developed and absolutely nothing can change my mind. I tried to keep reading for the sake of plot but gosh i can't when every other page is just completely described smut with fantasies please i'm a fresh 17 year old and i cannot deal with this.
I'm still mentally recovering from that teacher fantasy, that irked me so much i just couldn't. I don't know how this book is a goodreaders winner but that's just my opinion lol.
I liked the element of representation in this book, not having your usual white main characters was actually like a breath of fresh air. The depiction of Asperger's Syndrome through Stella and her interaction with her environment was quite interesting and i've definitely gained a slightly better understanding towards it. I really enjoyed areas where Stella elaborates on her job and her passion for her career, it was just really fascinating and my favorite part of the book. Rest all just sucked. (as far as i've read lol)
I liked the dynamic? the relationship between them and their differences was very interesting. That's all. I hated everything else.
okay woah. 3 stars cos it got bland in the end and didn't make me emotional but the first half of the book hit wayy too close to home especially the whole hospital stuff.
so where do i start. this book was like an actual reality check. i'm not even kidding, it was like a jab to my face. i didn't realize my shitty approach to life until i read this, it really makes you value life a lot more. we're so used to chasing materialistic things and accumulating wealth and when it's our last hour, we realize we didn't get to have that one convo w that friend or hug them for the last time.
i'm acc going to be living my life like i just got my death cast call cos woah this book is an eye opener on what we should be acc valuing. time to undergo an ego death.
i hated the pov part and the line ‘he didn't get a call from death cast cos he isnt gonna die' omg that was just so annoying. peck was just irrelevant asf. we get one single pov from his gang member and um? it was unneccessary asf imo it seemed so forced.
i was loving the platonic friendship between the two until they kissed, i was like WHAT. YALL JUST MET. THIS IS TRAUMA BONDING PLEASE NOT LOVE. anywya that irked me cos platonic friendships are just as special as romantic, if not more. It seemed so out of place considering we only know roof is bisexual and there's like barely any lgbtq stuff throughout the book and it just gets shoved down my throat at the end.
i hated how delilah didn't get a little spotlight, i really enjoyed her character. i hated how lidia and matteo didn't revisit ‘old places' and traditions they have one last time like a boring movie marathon or one more scroll the park together. otherwise it was fine.
i almost cried. ALMOST. (at the first half) but yeah this book definitely did impact me.
bro. ATLEAST TELL ME WHO THE WOLF IS BRO WALLAH THIS GUY. gosh this valerie is so stupid man just go for henry which is like the perfect guy in every sense but you decide to go for a dude you have 0 chemistry with. its such a bad cliche character (valerie) with absolutely no characters development. i wish i could take back all the time i spent reading this horrid book.
the minute things got interesting, it just dies down like what are the authors doing omg. the first 2 parts of the book were so mid, worst initial chapters ever idk how i made it through.
Valerie, respectfully, get a life.
do i even need to explain myself? let my reading updates speak for themselves. bye i acc love this graphic novel so fucking mcuh bro i love them and their relationship and the little things and its just so wholesome and i just want to engulf both of them into such a big ass hug cos i love them both so much, bye. alice oseman, you're a literary genius to me idc this is the BEST.
utterly disgusting. 0/5 i fucking hate this book so much, what a waste of money and my time. i'm literally so embarrassed that i read even 10 pages of this atrocious book.
here's everything i hated about this shitty book:
1. why tf is ian a controlling freak what the actual fuck. ‘iF YoU gO uNdEFednDED i WiLl PuNIsH yOu' WHAT THE HELL BRO GET TF OUT
2. i hate the age difference
3. ian's divorced wtf
4. francesa is a stupid bitch who let him literally harass her and she's enjoying it??? they just met??? wtf
5. i fucking hate ian
6. ian
7. all the characters in this book are utter trash, no development and this book literally had no plot. The ‘erotica' was the plot yep the bdsm was the plot
fr i only liked david's character cos he's the only sane one in this book with some self respect ffs
i've read many annoying books but NEVER ONE THAT ENDED UP BEST SELLING????? the writing style was just too simple, everything about this book annoyed the livid shit out of me. It just kept going on and on like dude stop, i had no attachment to any of the characters, i wasn't melting at the one day romeo and juliet wannabe relationship between the boy and fatima.
the book keeps repeating this one idea over and over again like STOPPPPPPPP I DOMT CARE ANOUT THE SOUL OF THE WORLDDDDJDJJDIRJDJR FIND THE STUPID TREASURE DAWG. this boy is so immature, going w anything that his heart sets on like dude???? where's the logic?
the dude gives up everything he's got to chase after something he saw in a dream. the whole heavy emphasis on destiny really pushed me to my breaking point. i really don't like this book.
0.5/10 cos i found some nice quotes
