This book was so good. I loved it so much. It messed me up. A lot and I will explain why.
Lowen-seemed just a bit too off, strange/unattached from a lot, until she goes to the Crawford home. She was such a sad person- all throughout the book. I just felt sorry for her. Even in the end, she was just someone I felt sorry for.
Jeremy- I hated him a bit. Until about the middle of the book- when she gets her apartment news(not spoiling anything(; ). I felt like he was just a side character more than a supposed love interest. I didn't see any chemistry for Lowen to fall for- maybe some kindness but nowhere along the lines of substantial. But god am I glad that he got the ending he deserved.
The romance between them felt rushed between the two of them- so random and unseen. Nothing too special seemed to have go on.
I loved this book so much. Libby's development as she learns more about the massacre and revisits old memories was written perfectly. It wasn't messy and hard to understand either, which is my favorite part of it. I love how each chapter changed not only pov, but time period as well. We got to see the day leading up the killings from Patty (the mother) and from Ben's perspective, which I loved.
This book had some wonderful suspense and mystery and definitely kept away from any romance. It did have mentioning of devil worship, drugs, molestation, and some curse words.
This book was amazing. Definitely a new favorite. The way that Billie's life changes so quickly and the way that she is so anxious because of it is so amazingly written. We're shown her anxiety and fears. We're shown her romance(s) and how she is as a partner. And I cannot wait to read book 2.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
mysterious read
It was full of twists and turns at every turn of a page and I LOVED it!! I loved the mystery!!
Jodi Picoult did it AGAIN! I loved this novel. It made me cry and get mad many times. But I loved every second of it. Willows growth as a person was so joyful to see. The end, although not the way I'd have preferred it, heartbreaking and all, put me in awe. The lessons learned by all characters, and even the reader, are astounding. Definitely an outstanding read.
This book hurt me. So badly. I loved it and hated it so much. I wanted to throw the book across the room, I wanted to scream at Colleen herself. I loved everything about this novel. This is definitely my favorite novel by her. The relationship between them was so hard for me to read. It fully killed me
The end- was just a whole different heartbreak. I could almost feel my heart cracking as hers broke at the end. It made me want to be a little depressed teenager again
I read this book in under 24 hours. I loved it so much. The ending was such a HUGE twist that I couldn't see coming until it got towards the end of the book. The only thing that could be off putting is how it changes perspectives. I definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves mystery's.
I loved everything about this book, except the ending. I hate the choices Josie made at the end of the book and the choices Alex made as well. Everything other than the last 2-3 chapters, we're amazing. And I wish it ended with Josie's testimony instead of the anniversary of the shooting where Patrick and Alex were at the school, critiquing the schools decisions for after the shooting. But other than that, the character development was AMAZING. The different perspectives were GREAT. I love when authors do that! Its my favorite thing ever! But this book was definitely a great read!
