Winners of the 2025 Mythopoeic Awards (announced August, 2025)

Mythopoeia is a subgenre of speculative fiction where the author develops fictionalized or artificial mythology. The Mythopoeic Society honors authors in this space each year. Acknowledged masters include J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis and Charles Williams.

The 2025 winners were:
• Adult Fantasy - The Melancholy of Untold History by Minsoo Kang
• Young Adult Fantasy - The Isles of the Gods duology by Amie Kaufman
• Children's Fantasy - Island of Whispers by Frances Hardinge (author) and Emily Gravett (illustrator)
• Inklings Studies - The Collected Poems of J.R.R. Tolkien edited by Christina Scull and Wayne G. Hammond
• Myth and Fantasy Studies - Urban Fantasy: Exploring Modernity through Magic by Stefan Ekman
