All I have to say is what the fuck. Um the plot twist just had my jaw on the floor. Other than that, love the characters and the slow love they were building. Um but what the fuck. How do we come back from this? I don't have any coherent thoughts other than I'm starting the next book immediately.
“Sacra was the devil incarnate, and my foolish naivety had left me enthralled in his web”
Let me say, this story is not for the faint of heart. Please check your trigger warning, if you feel the need. If you want a book with a heaping spoonful of mystery, a dark grey MMC, resilient FMC, some top tier spice, this is exactly what you need.
This was my first cult romance and with Ann-Marie's writing, I knew there was no way I wouldn't love this book. What I did not expect was for the last 100 pages to rip my heart out and stomp on it. I cried like a baby, and that may be an understatement.
From the first moment we meet our FMC and begin to learn her story, you quickly start to empathize with her. Mia is homeless with no memories, coke addiction, and a single friend named Jenny. She brutally thrown into our MMC world by reluctantly testing his product. After their first meeting, Sacha is unwilling to give up Mia due to something he saw in her which furthers this mystery. There was not a single moment were I wanted to put down this book, calling it a page turner is underplaying this book. You slowly begin to unfold the mystery behind Mia's missing memories and the cruel, dangerous world Sacha is a member of.
Sacha is the darkest shade of grey that comes. He is controlling, hardheaded, and lacks empathy but he will sure have you questions whether you are the crazy one. The push and pull between these two had me screaming at the wall, you just want to see them succeed. The character development within this story was immaculate. You get to experience Mia find herself, metaphorically and literally. The torn down, unsure women we met at the start of the story didn't exist at the end. Sacha slowly (very slowly) let down his walls and began to soften for Mia.
The spice ladies and gents was so good, I feel inclined to say some of the best I have ever read. There is a heavy dash of BDSM including praise and degradation kinks. What made this spice so different to me is it added to the story, it wasn't there as just sex but it added to the plot line in someway.
The only qualm I have about this book was the epilogue, my greedy ass wished there was more.
3.5✨
I desperately wish that this story was longer. My fondness for instalust/love has grew but it felt like this just moved incredibly fast. It wasn't a super heavy book, had some good action and lovable characters. Seeing Theo and Maddie get to know each other was so cute, there wasn't a lot of tension unfortunately. It's a short easy read, you can't really go wrong honestly.
3.5/5✨
I absolutely devoured this book, 2 sittings 1 day and I was done. It's something about a MC romance that just does it for me. While this wasn't my favorite book I've ever read, it absolutely kept me entertained. Truth be told, I almost DNFed it but I stuck around and it got better! We have forbidden for a few reasons: age gap and the FMC looks like his daughter that brutally murdered alongside his wife a decade prior. The latter reason was hard for me to get on board with which seems to be the issue for a few other people that have this book, but there was one point in the book were I went “aaaa I get it now! I think?” It is twisty no doubt but they developed copious amounts of care and love through this initial connection. Both of our main characters went through immense amounts of trauma previous to meeting each other and that created a magnificent revenge plot. Let me tell you, the revenge they doled out was one of my favorites I have ever. The epilogue did bring me some additionally happiness which rarely happens for me. Super quick and fun read, this absolutely for those who love daddy kink and a possessive MMC.

this mc romance tugged on my heart strings at every chance possible. this was not just overly possessive men doing bad things (nothing ever wrong with that) but it was a story of a young girl and grown men all dealing with the grief of a man they all dearly cared for. if you worry about age gaps because of the maturity levels, this is perfect for you. Isabelle may be young but she is resilient girl who doesn't take shit. Axel is the grown part of this age gap, and when reading his POV you can see the care he has for Isabelle and the thought process of his actions for her. I absolutely adored this book, thought it was a 5 star read until about the 50% mark. I'm not sure where it went off but I wasn't in love with the conflict presented so I somewhat checked out for the last 25%. The conflict felt rushed and extremely unrealistic.

wowza this book pulled on my heart strings much more than I expected it. I am not a duet lover so this took me a good third of the book to get into but god I am so happy I read this. Seeing the continuation of Dom and Lucy's story was everything I could ever ask for. What I have learned about Kylie Kent's book is they are SO fast paced, in the best way possible. There is always action and you will never want to put the book down. I don't think anything will ever top the first book for me but this continuation was almost perfection.
4.5✨
Riggers mistake has to be the most heartwarming mc romance I have ever read. I absolutely adored the relationship between Navy and Rigger. The past, the care he took for her, and the love that they fell into head first was so beautiful. This book is a slow burn but it was oh so worth. The spice had purpose and it was perfection, the hard topics talked about were done with care and respect. The tension leading up was AH so good, like the first kiss was just so good. I loved the forbidden love but the acceptance for them was so far from judgmental. No third act break up. It was so good, definitely deserves a place on your tbr.

Jagger Cole's writing is something completely unique. I feel like I am inside of these characters head, their personalities are crafted to perfection. This is a large age gap and you know how you'll read a book and go “this man is acting 20 when he is 40” nuhuh not with this book. Everything to humor to the mannerism show their respective ages perfectly. I felt every emotion during this book. Disgust, angst, pure anguish, among so much happiness. I ugly cried at the epilogue which says a lot for an epilogue and non crier. These people were flawed, some more than others (talking about you Judy). Jackson and Melody were perfect, they complimented each other in every way.

This book just wasn't for me, something didn't click from the beginning but the intrigue kept me reading. The pacing felt off and I didn't find myself connection with the characters buttttt don't write it off! It still loved the mystery aspects and the d/s relationship (even though I wish we saw more of this).

I loved this book with every inch of my heart I have to give. I savored this book, I forced myself not devour the entire book in one sitting. Truthfully, seeing Kat in the last book I wasn't ecstatic about getting her book but god was I wrong. Getting to see the depth behind this girl was absolute perfection. The slow love built between her and Axe had my heart racing, it felt so wrong but so god damn right. This love isn't for the faint of heart, this is gritty slightly toxic love but it was everything I could have asked for and more. Love aside, this book had stunning character development, a spectacular plot, and oh so much heat. Absolute pacing perfection. Let me tell ya, I am not a flashback fan but when I am telling you I was itching to see their past. I can't wait to see this series progress. If we don't get preachers story next, I am going to riot.

Let me tell ya. A perfect stalker romance include murderous MMC, brave FMC, tension (I mean like no physical contact for a good chunk of the book), and kinky shit. THIS IS IT. Add a few extra tropes like billionaire and we are set. This book was absolutely perfection. I love the family dynamics. I learned half way through this book that they are cameos from other series and I'm so intrigued. Lucy was absolutely perfection. She has strong willed to the max. She doesn't cower, she starts toying with Dom which was perfection. This man was ultra possessive and obsessive (hence the stalking part). AND the ending... uh please I need the next book asap pronto.
I don't think I've been ever so confused. I was so lost the last 100 pages but it was good? I think
3.5✨
this is my first time reading a novella and I tend to like a slower burn but I liked this! It gave what it need to which was cute, quick, and forbidden. I would read another one but I think I wouldn't want to try reading in one sitting inside of like spacing it, is that weird??
So fucking cute. I was feeling a little slumpy, after starting 8 different books today, I decided on a novella to make the pain go away. God it was a great decision, this is only the second novella I have ever read. If you go into these stories as incredibly fast paced, wholesome, and entertaining then you will have an amazing time. I loved the characters and the emotions shared between them. Genuine sadness came over me when it was done.
There could be the biggest plot holes, the worst character development, anything and I would still absolute adore this duet simply because of Garrett and Maisie. But let me tell ya, there isn't. I'm a certified duet hater and practically never finish duet but THIS. The plot line kept me so interested and my love for the couple went past all semblance of normal.
So fucking cute. I am starting to adore novellas. Such a cute story about a protective mafia boss and a unwanted mafia princess. Our MMC wants nothing but to give our FMC everything she has ever dreamed of. This has everything you could ever want in a novella. Age gap, mafia, virgin FMC, care taking and spoiling.
This book is the definition of a meet cute. Listen I am not a contemporary girly as you can see by my recently read but god damn this book had me a chokehold. Row is working so incredibly hard just to be shitted on my life at every turn. It seems her luck changes when she meets Blade at a coffee shop after dropping her last few bucks in change on the floor. Blade, a single dad, CEO of a Leukemia foundation who feels like he has been out of the game for too long. The love story brings on twist and turns, push and pull, angst, and an incredible amount of love. The character development, specifically from Row, was such perfection.
I am sad because this novella was amazing right up til the conflict at the end. I loved how overprotective Rafe was and Elena's take no bullshit personality. The resolution of the third act conflict was not my favorite. It went from “he's manipulating me” to “yes I'll marry you” in like .3 of second, I got whiplash. Regardless, a solid dark novella but just didn't hit the same.
I adored this novella. It starts off with a bang and it never ends. The spice, plot, banter were un-fucking-matched.
Our FMC, Rage, has been through incredible hardships and when she is found slitting the throat of a man who couldn't take “no” for an answer by Jace, everything changed. Retired assassin, Jace, was immediately enthralled by this girl who simply gave no fucks and the only logical answer is that he starts stalking her. This starts the beginning of our unexpected love story.
Considering this is a novella, the character development and the plot were developed. I started to feel the love the between them. Obviously, I wanted more of them but that's me just being greedy.
I adore this series. My cheeks hurt from smiling, I can only take cute swoony stuff in small doses so these novellas are perfect for me. Similarly to the first book, we have a lady looking to learn self defense skills but this time she turns to her brooding neighbor who happens to be a stunt man and fighter for hobby. So quick and cute, I loved how they both inwardly believed the other was thinking something negative. Miscommunication in the best way possible.
If you see me finish the last book tonight in the series, no you didn't.
Boss/employee, age gap, dads best friend, hockeyish (both work for hockey team but not players) novellas.
This was a quick read and given the short length there was no tension or angst prior to the relationship which threw me off. I felt I didn't know these characters in the slightest. Regardless, it's quick and enjoyable for the hour it took to read.
I received this ARC via BookSprout!
I can't tell you the last time I felt this way about a book. I was excited, possibly even anxious, to pick the book back up before I even set it down. This forbidden angsty story line was executed to perfection. I was itching for them to give in, the little hints of love seen between them throughout the entire book had you on the edge of your seat. There was this undeniable attraction to each other even though the hatred was so evident. Add in the suspense aspect and you never wanted to stop reading. I couldn't imagine a more perfect ending truthfully. Dare I say, this is undoubtedly going to be my favorite book of the year???
ALSO THE PEACOCK FEATHER TATTOO I FUCKING CRIED
The premise of this story was done to perfection. Artist looking for the perfect subject, finds the broody unapproachable MMA fighter would wants nothing to do with it. I loved the inner dialogues of both of the our main characters, especially our MMC cause it showed how sweet and caring he was under that brooding exterior. This was my first dual virgin book and I think it really threw me off??? Maybe it's just not my thing but I didn't love it.
This is my first book by Zoe Blake and it will absolutely be the first of many. I loved this. Reading the tropes and the blurb, I knew it was right up my alley and I couldn't have been more right. I've been itching for a new mafia series and this is undoubtedly it.
I adored the push and pull in this. When I say push and pull I mean she sneaks out of his house when he said to stay and he comes breaking down any obstacle that stands in their way (including doors and men). This man couldn't take no for an answer but that is exactly what Brynn needed. Working through the trauma of her past made her ultimately stubborn to not rely on a man. Anton was hell bent on giving her everything after catching her allllmost stealing from him. Everything that happened was perfection and I can't wait to read more in the series.
