See allAs a white person I have always been aware of racism but this book really opened my eyes to how deep it runs. It's an important book to read, everyone should read it. I also think this book should be read in schools.
The only reason I haven't given this 4 stars is because it was a very very slow build up. I struggled through the first 200 pages and the only reason I continued was because a friend kept telling me it gets good.
And it did. Very good. There were so many stories happening and it's incredible how they all came together in the end. My mind was blown until the last page.
This book started off slow, had some interesting/thrilling moments in the middle, the ending was disappointing, I won't lie. It didn't end up where I wanted it to.
DNF at 27%.
Maybe my mistake was reading this straight after reading the original trilogy for the first time (which I loved) or maybe it's just a bad book? I don't know. This felt like a bad fanfic. I was so incredibly bored the entire time I was reading this.
This is the first book I have read by this author but it definitely won't be the last. Wow. Amazing.
