I first read this book in high school many years ago. I read it to my boys last year and it still made me laugh!

4.5 stars - Plain spoken, moving story about an elderly woman who took a chance at a friendship with a man who lived down her street.

I enjoyed this book a little less than the first, but it was still an entertaining read. I fell in love with the characters in the first book and didn't see as much of them as I wanted to in this installment. Looking forward to finishing the trilogy.

Funny and thought provoking...loved this artsy little book.

A quick and enjoyable read. All of the fantastic blurbs on the cover raised my expectations of what I thought this novel would be, so that was a bit disappointing. Average detective story in the end.

Art is great. Story is not. It seems like it is trying to be very edgy, but I just found it to be superficial and confusing. Won't be continuing this one.

3.5 Stars. This book had a lot of elements that I liked and told a fresh, unique tale. However, the characters and story never really captivated me like it seemed to do with other readers.

Solid YA read. This book has interesting and like-able characters that most teens will probably identify with. It is a story about friendship, courage and hope and I recommend it to anyone looking for a good contemporary YA story.

This is a well-researched historical mystery. The historical part is its strength. I didn't find the story, characters, or mystery that compelling, though.

The author has a message that is upbeat and focuses on simple attitude changes and methods that can bring us more happiness in our day to day lives. Recommended for those who enjoy inspirational self-help type books.

Potential for a good story here. However, I found the book to be way too long and the character development was lacking.

I really enjoyed the world building, characters and art work and the story was fresh and unpredictable. It was more humorous and contained more adult content than I was expecting. I look forward to continuing the series.

3.5 stars. I didn't love this second installment as much as the first book, but it was still a good read. I like Will Trent as a character and the story was interesting and fast-paced. Will continue with the series.

Fast paced read full of dysfunctional relationships and a little mystery.

Very enjoyable and solid WWII read. I love the fact that the focus of the story was on two sisters and their experiences during the war. Highly recommend!

Another enjoyable mystery-thriller from Karin Slaughter. Per usual, great story, characters, and interesting plot. I plan to continue on with the series. She has become a favorite author.
