Three Wishes
This book was simply splendid. I was intrigued by the synopsis and first got it as an audiobook. I was planning to listen to it around the house and my commute but after a few chapters, I had to get a copy of it. As soon as I had time and sat down I finished it in less than 24 hours. It's one of those books that grips you and doesn't let go. I found myself crying, laughing, getting angry, and squealing throughout it. The story was easy to read, it allowed the reader to emphasize with the characters and connect with them. At first, I was skeptical since every few chapters the person's point of view would change to another character but the transition was smooth and didn't jolt me out of the immersion. The whole thing was written in a way that the reader was looking into whilst being apart of it. As for the characters, thinking about them objectively they seem kinda ridiculous of the bat but completely suit and fit perfectly in the story. The main heroine in the story is an innocent, naive, and at the same time completely unfortunate character. She is sweet, beautiful, basically perfect in every way, intentionally I might add. Whilst, the male protagonist is the spitting image of a stereotypical romance hero, intentionally also. The catch to this story is the genie, and how he fits into the story. What he brings to the table and how the characters are shaped because of him.... literally. The genie was also an incredibly fun character to read about, he brought mirth and sarcasm into the dialogues. By the end of the book, you're just as in love with him and rooting for him as all the other characters. The book ended in an HEA, which is perfect given the underlying theme of the story. Although make no mistake, that this HEA was not easily obtained. That's all I can say without ruining too much, and dropping too many hints so, I give this book 5 stars!
