I didn't know much about Vonnegut, having only read Cat's Cradle previously (and, I think in highschool, at that (boy, I'm old)), so took me a while to realize the autobiographical bits were truly autobiographical. Kinda wish it were pure memoir+musings, but the weaving in of fiction was a fun device, I suppose.
i'll tell you what, tho.. seems like he has a rep for being curmudgeonly, or something? i dunno, I get a lot of heart from this guy. just another disappointed sensitive soul seeking light.

–the movie “99 Homes” is a good companion (if a bit melodramatic)
some good ones. a lot of them seemed to come apart at the final paragraph. a lot of buildup for a weak punchline.
“safety tips for living alone” by jim shepard was my favorite. comparatively straightforward, but engrossing and damn tragic.
the day i read “our new neighborhood” i watched an x-files episode that was kind of just like it (“arcadia”).
wow, this is my longest review.
i read the notes first, then stanza. if there were references to other notes in that note i jumped to the referred note and read that. suffice to say i was jumping around quite a bit. pretty fun.
