An enjoyable thriller which really pick up pace in the latter part of the book. Some great twists and turns. My only negative was that I found the large number of characters involved a little confusing at times, especially early in the book, but other than that a great read.

Another enthralling Cliff Hardy adventure. Not my favourite but still a great read with all the usual ingredients.

A disturbing novel set in a recently developed high-rise apartment building. I should have been prepared for a wild ride when the first sentence of the books starts with “Later, as he sat on his balcony eating the dog...”. Such a lot of social commentary and satire embedded in this intricate novel. Not a fun read but I'm certainly glad I read it. I'm keen to explore more of Ballard's writing.

I was a little disappointed with this novel. I found it rather slow moving with a lot of detailed descriptions that I didn't feel were necessary. Also I found a few plot points a bit unbelievable which definitely detracted from my enjoyment of this mystery.

Overall an enjoyable read. I found the first half of the story was a bit slow and bit hard to get into but the last half was fast, exceptional, emotional and thought provoking. I'm now keen to read some of the authors longer works.

Another enjoyable Philip K. Dick novel. This one was certainly the most convulated one I have read. I spent the whole novel trying to figure out what was going on but thoroughly enjoyed the journey. As with all the Dick novels I have read so far a lot of concepts to think about. Highly recommended.

Another great Jim Thompson book. Enthralling and engaging right from the start. It was so difficult to decide how to think about the main characters. Should I feel sorry for them or not? Were they evil or victims of their circumstances? Beautifully written with some great twists in the latter part of the book. Highly recommended.
