This is a masterpiece.

Utterly enchanting. Other than the weird corporal punishment stuff. Very of its time in that respect—but way ahead of its time in how it deals with emotional trauma.

Brilliant addition to the cosmere. A wonderful capstone to the secret projects and a thrilling look to what will come next.

Let me start by saying that I wholeheartedly agree with all of the critiques of the american capital system that Doctorow raises and largely agree with his conclusions. This book has been poorly reviewed because those whom it critiques don't like being called out. I disliked the book because there was absolutely no character in the book. Marty is not a character, he is a person stuff happens around. Doctorow is a great writer, and I have liked much of his nonfiction, but this is a miss.

I really loved the series, but this book is the weakest of the three. It’s overlong in the middle but has a wonderfully satisfying conclusion. Hobb is a master of prose and character, and even the parts that were too long were beautiful and enjoyable. The series is well worth your time.
