See allI was drawn to this book and David Mitchell because of the comparisons to Murakami and they are impossible to miss. The main character admits to having a half read book by Murakami. Still I enjoyed this novel almost as much as Ghsotwritten and I'm sure I'll be reflecting on the ending for a long time.
I was thrilled to discover a prose story in the Sandman universe. It was fascinating to see how Neil Gaiman delivered a wonderful retelling of a classic Japanese fable and seamlessly injected Morpheus into the tale. As always, Gaiman's wonderful storytelling creates a sense of magic and wonder that propels the story along.
