This series is such a guilty pleasure for me, but G.A. Aiken writes engaging characters (for the most part) and sucks you into the story. The books are filled with strong female and male characters alike and a dash of humor.

Beautifully written and so engaging–I didn't want to put it down. This is one I had to have in my library.

Again, fun and quick. However, I found the end to be anticlimactic and a huge let down.

An interesting concept, but the main character sometimes speaks in a way that seems like it is someone's impression of what a “cool guy” would say instead of just letting the character be cool, which I found distracting.

It was fun to read this to continue the story set up in the first two books. Marillier's writing is great, but I didn't enjoy Fianne or her story as much as I did with Sorcha and Liadan.

This is my favorite book of the series. Elijah and Siena are great characters.

A weird story about a HS student with a terminal disease who has to come to terms with who he is and who he wishes he could be. And getting the chance to be that person, even if it's not exactly how one imagined it would happen.

Frank usually does a good job mixing romance and plot-driven story, but I didn't find that to be true for this book. I felt like overall nothing of consequence really happened and I was SO tired of Noah and Kestra's romantic interludes which seem to happen every 5 minutes.

A darker, bittersweet fairy tale that I couldn't put down. I love the world Gaiman created.

Still a fun and quick read, although I think it loses some of the charm and ability to speak to people at different ages that Uglies had. Pretty-speak drove me nuts after awhile.

Unnecessary.

A great sequel to Daughter of the Forest. Liadan shows a different form of strength than her mother, but she is just as relatable and amazing.

I was completely drawn into this book. Sorcha has a quiet strength that I found very appealing and the story mixes myth and legend with relatable characters whom I fell in love with.

This book was just one thing on top of another on top of another and it got to be too much and too ridiculous for me. I found Darcy annoying and entitled, which made it hard to want to read.

This book may have started my fascination with dragons. Cimorene is strong, practical, and engaging, as are most of the characters in the book. I really enjoy this series.

Fun and quick to read, however I wish Bella was a stronger character who didn't let the males in the story treat her as a pawn a times.

A great retelling of the Cinderella story. Ella is a strong, relatable character. I like to revisit the story every once-in-awhile.

This was the book that really changed things for me as a young reader and introduced a whole new world and genre. I love it. The story and the emotions are strong and engaging. Madeleine L'Engle is a favorite.

I devoured this book. It has a message that appeals to all ages (not just teens) and addresses an issue that is at the forefront of our society. Tally is strong and relatable and I thoroughly enjoyed the book.

This is a great YA vampire series filled with engaging characters who each bring their own strengths to the story. Mead doesn't shy away from difficult subjects and it's to her credit throughout the entire series. I couldn't put these books down.

This was my first Gaiman book and I could not put it down. As a lover of myths, this concept was amazing and such an interesting perspective.

One of my favorite book series. I love the characters and the world of these books and enjoy re-reading them every few years.
