This was my first Sarah Waters book and at first I found it to be long and slow but the more I was reading, I could,'t stop. There's romance, some suspense and some suprises in this book. A great book.
Lana has a past that doesn't want to be discovered. When she takes a job babysiting and her friend Beck disappears, a twisted game of treasure hunt is unravelling pieces of her past and is connected to the disappearance of her friend.
Twisted, suspensful. Thsi book keeps you guessing every chapter!
Love love it! it's the kind of book that you can't stop reading. Some people didn't like the ending but I found that the ending was just right.
It was an interesting book. I didnt love it or hate but l'm giving it a 3 out of 5. I felt like I was reading about The Big Bang Theory, a little too similar to Sheldon. I felt like the relationship between Don and Rosie was a little too far fetched. It
s a small book and I think it was fine because if would have been too long, I would'nt finish it.
This is a romance story but more than that, it's a zombie romance. This one is particular because it's ‘R' the zombie who is telling the story. He doesn't remember how he became a zombie but he knows he's different than the others. He talks and listens to music and when he eats the brains of his victims he remembers a part of their lives.
During a hunt he meets Julie, he doesn't want to eat her but he wants to save her. He starts to bound with her and something inside of his zombie body changes.
Not only this is a romance book but also a post-apocalyptic tale and the questionning what would happen to humanity if we lost it all.
Well written, funny and sweet at the same time.
Who doesn`t like Italian? Easy to read and to follow. A family book and cookbook at the same time
First book in the Alex Delaware and it was a good beginning. The story was well written and the relationship between Alex and Milo is intersting. Good book.
I really like this book. The suspense was right on. Great characters. This book is being compared to Gone girl and it may seem like its a ressemblance but it
s not. The characters (Mia, Colin, Eve, Gabe) were well written. reading this book I thought I knew how it would end but I was totally wrong.I give this book 4/5!
Beautiful book. The story, the setting. Not a lot of action but it's mostly a romance YA novel. Fast read, wish it was longer but the sequel is coming soon.
Sweet, funny, tear-jerker novel. Ove is the kind od character that is grumpy bitter but will stay with you fow awhile.
Great crossover between Batman and the Green Hornet. Full of action, great story, the artwork was on point! I didnt watch the old Green Hornet tv show but Batman was a must watched even though I wasn
t born during that period, reruns were everywhere. Great comic worth the read and re-read.
This is the sequel to [b:No Time for Goodbye 1225261 No Time for Goodbye Linwood Barclay https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1182031065s/1225261.jpg 2906898] and it happens 7 years after. This time it's their daughter Grace who's in trouble. Claudia and Terry are on a break but even though tahy are not living together with what's happening to their daughter bring them into the story in separate directions that soon becomes connected together.Lots of twist, the suspense is on point. What a great continuation to the first one. 5 stars!
I received this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
This book is about Jules and her grandfather Szaja. Both are telling their stories: Jules in the 70's and her granfather in the 20's.
Jules is living in a very disturbed and dysfunctional environment with her parents. Between her parents there is violence, gambling, drugs and a lot of beating and to escape her imagination to bring some happy moments.
Szaja who in the 20's, witnessed unimaginable terror, violence and was too much that he develops a second personality to cope.
This book is disturbing, sad, poignant and beautiful at the same time. The author did an excellent job combining the two stories together, you could feel the pain and sorrow both were feeling.
My negative thing about this book is it was at time too slow but my overall opinion is that it's a great enjoyable book.
I received this book – Damaged (Rebirth # 1) from the author Becca Vincenza in exchange for my honest review.
After 5 years being held captive, Audrey is rescued by a team that includes Stone. Instantly he feels a connection to her and feels he must protect her but being tortured for years, Audrey doesn't trust anybody and Stone will anything to make her trust him
This Paranormal romance has shape-shifters, sirens, feys and many more. Reading this novel made me think that this could easily be made into a movie. The characters were so well done that immediately you could imagine them while reading.
The story was so good that I wanted more! The interactions between the characters were believable, the writing was was excellent. The romance in this book well executed, not too much just perfect for the storyline.
Truly impressed, a very enjoyable read.
A great start for this series.
A big 4.5 stars!
My last book of 2015 and it was worth it. Poignant, intelligent, a real tearjerker. It reminded me of [b:The Fault in Our Stars 11870085 The Fault in Our Stars John Green https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1360206420s/11870085.jpg 16827462]. A touching novel about death, suicide but also love.
Harry Hole is a messed up character. His personal life is a total chaos but one thing is for sure, he's a pretty good cop. Suspensful, engaging. I enjoyed this one more than The Bat.
Beautiful historical story about t Marie-Laure and Werner whose life cross paths during WWII. Wonderfully written, incredible characters.Well detailed and interesting. Loved the little French words here and there. The short chapters were a great idea but felt the book was a little bit too long, still a 5/5 novel.
Great continuation for the Zack Walker series. Zack, still paranoid and always at the wrong place at the wrong time but that's what makes this series so good!
My first book from this author and I enjoyed it. It`s starts out pretty normal and then it becomes strange in an interesting way. A good Chick-lit, romantic funny entertaining book.
Rhett is a foster child in a somewhat normal life. Hes a nerdy book loving blogger football player high school student, who hangs with his journalist girlfriend Beth and his best friend/bodyguard Xavier.
People are being accused of being witches and Rhett doesn
t believe that witches or warlocks even exist in real life. In just one night, the witches exact their revenge and in an instant Rhett lose his foster family, his girlfriend and best friend are abducted by a group of Necromancers. He is saved by his mysterious neighbor and is trained to become stronger so he can save his friends and avenge his family.
Travelling with his witch experiment dog Hex, he meets Laney and her traumatized little sister Trish; they seek the truth and also a way to survive.
First of all, I appreciated the fact that the main character Rhett was dark skinned and a nerd!
The plot was great, very imaginative and well written. The story was intriguing, witches, warlocks, necromancers, sirens, the all a purpose in the story without being confusing. A lot of action, the dialogue was well thought, serious and humorous mixed together wasnt over the top.
Each characters were intrigual in Rhett
s crusade, to Mr. Jackson who saved and trained him, Lainey, the tough teenager who is trying to protect her sister Trish who doesn't talk but with her gestures, gives message and who also has a secret and Hex, the dog who has magical powers because a witch experimented a little too much on him (wish my dog had magic!).
While reading this book, I felt it went very fast , was never bored and wanted to know more which the sequel Boil will be on my to read list.
Great book 4.5 stars.
During a shootout 8 months ago, on a quiet night unindentifed men shot two people in a car, LAPD Scott james and his partner Staphanie. Scott is the only survivor and not only is he physically in pain but also mentally.
Maggie is a explosive tracker German shepherd in Afghanistan, lost her handler and herself got shot. She has a hard time connecting to people.
Scott notices her at the K-9 training facility and a unlikely partnership is discovered.
Scott still want to know who wanted to kill those two men that night and avenge his partner's death, him being shot and also the nightmares.
A very suspenful novel. The author did a great job with the characters. The connection between Scoot and Maggie was so well written, he took time to make them know each other. Emotional at times, anybody who is a dog lover will understand the bond you have when you choose your dog.
There is some funny parts but the action in this book is the star. This is a stand alone book but I wish this was a series.
Worth the read. This was my first time reading this author and will check out his other novels.
I give this book 5 stars!
I was a so so book. Does it ressemble Gone, girl.. no way. This was more like a psychology book. There wasn't much of any action or suspense. Was very one toned, sometimes boring. With gone girl, I couldn't keep it down, for this one I read it just to finish it.
I don`t read sci-fi novels but this book took me out of my comfort zone and I have to thank the author for that. Suspensful and funny grips you from the first page to the last one.
For a YA novel, I really enjoyed it! The story was well written, intriguing and suspensful.
