The beginnings of Tony Hsieh was not that intriguing for me but the background of Zappos was very informative. Well worth a read for anyone in the customer service market.
intriguing and a quick read, eggers did a great job of capturing that overwhelming feeling of being a kid
I'm powering through this one but after 50 pages, I haven't been impressed. The idea of now is solid but Tolle's use of question and answer format and broad statements leaves much to be desired.

A week later and I've decided that 125 pages is as far as I'm getting. It's not even worth powering through to 190.
I can see how this would be a good access point for someone who has little to no knowledge of this theme. Tolle references several Buddhist and Christian texts and describes time, body and meditation in a way that could lead to further questions and searching. For someone who already has some knowledge of these concepts though, this book lacks depth. Tolle continues to harp on the same concepts by providing answers to what I assume are supposed to be common questions. The idea is interesting and does lead to easy accessibility but Tolle's answers are lacking.
Though a bit all over the place at times, Hitchens does a fine job of outlining the underbelly of religion.
Gibson always pulls me in with pre World of Warcraft visions of virtual world presence, interaction and environment. The idea of the creation of an AI being who is able to interact and learn from humans is not new but Gibson's portrayal of an AI woman who interacts well nough for a rock star to wish to marry her is a unique twist. Bit-rot is my new fave phrase and Gibson is a timeless cyber sci-fi read.
Break Your Own Rules: How to Change the Patterns of Thinking that Block Women's Paths to Power
I'd never noticed until reading this book how many of my business reads were written by men. This book was a welcome change and the women of Flynn Heath Holt leadership hit the nail on the head in over 90% of their chapters.
When I first started 1Q84, I was mostly just intrigued but not too impressed with the start.
30% in I decided I probably wasn't going to finish it but would give it just a bit longer to pull me in.
40% in I realized it was 925 pages and the dialogue was putting me to sleep.
For lack of anything better to read, I stuck it out.
60% in and I was hooked.
Don't go into this lightly and give it time to build.
