See allI enjoyed the book overall but it doesn't feel like a haunted houses book in the sense of what one my expect. Is the house haunted? Yes. Does it have the same feel of other popular horror books / movies (e.g. Grave Encounters, Hell House, etc,..)? No.
I would go into this book, not expecting to be scared but entertained. I was absolutely interested in the story crafted, and attached to the characters, but I wasn't scared. The ending was fun, and I believe it closed the story. It's definitely a fun read, but I wouldn't classify it as horror. But, what do you think of the book? Read it and find out!
This is the first book I have read from front to back in many years, outside of technical documentation or anything else for work. I enjoyed the read, but felt the narrative was all over the place. I was left with more questions than answers, but not in a good way. The writer didn't close many of the holes they left open, which I felt were an important piece to the puzzle. They kept hinting at something bigger at play, but they left the story at the surface. I would still recommend reading it, as it wasn't bad, it's just not something I would read again.
I loved this book, but at the same time, I found it a bit boring. It felt that there was more focus on building the world around the characters rather than moving towards an end goal. I was hoping for more hints of pushing the narrative, but it felt like we ended up where we started - little to no information concerning the major plot issue.
I truly enjoyed the character development; the different personalities allowed me to really connect with them
