So spooky and twisted that I couldn't put it down. Everyone should read it.

Not very realistic and has parts that read like a dictionary. Not the worst book but could be better.
Not as good as some of Murata's other works but I am still a huge fan. Good jump scare in this!
Would categorize as strange romance. Relationships that are sweet and toxic at the same time. (Updated on 3/14 to 5 stars)
Started off really strong with good characters but became unrealistic and drifted away from the themes as the book went on.
Very cool feminist project. Wasn't a fan of the added historical chapter in the 20th anniversary edition.
I don't like the use of a grand gesture, but can't stop thinking about scenes that pulled at my heartstrings. Well done dark themes. (Updated to 5 stars, a month later)
Unsettling in a good way. Well written. Parts 1 and 2 were fantastic. Still figuring out how I feel about part 3 (reminds me of One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest).
The book was awkward overall, but I understand how it might be beneficial to a different audience.
Hard to rate because it will mean different things to different people. Had parts I liked and parts I didn't like.
