Me rindo.
I love Japanese mystery books. It's not like I've read thousands, but all I've read until now have been right up my alley. And this book wasn't the exception.
The plot was intriguing, and kept me interested until the very last page. A couple of things were predictable, but that fact didn't ruin the story for me. Reiko Himekawa is one memorable character. I liked everything about her. Her participation in the story was superb, and I liked how she resolved murders. The rest of the characters were also interesting (even those who have lesser roles), and the themes portrayed in the story were real-life problems.
I'm definitely going to read the second book. Hopefully one day I'll read the whole series...
Unpopular opinion here.
The world building and the magic system are awesome. But it took more than 200 pages to actually get into the plot. I didn't like any of the characters (maybe Rhy, just a tiny bit), so I didn't care about what happened to them. Besides, all ended so well that it‘s like an standalone. I'm not sure if I'll continue reading the series because I see no point in doing so.
I have not played the game, but this was written by Brandon Sanderson... I don't think I need to explain more.
I highly enjoyed this audiobook. It made me want to play the game (even though I don't play games). But the one thing that bothers me is that I won't have a closure with the plot. Still, it was a very entertaining novella.

If I had to rate just the story without the romance, I'd give this 5 stars. The plot is SO good! There are so many twists and surprises I didn't see coming. It's gory, but funny, and the action scenes were incredible. Besides, the female cast is one of the best I've read so far, and it made me happy!
But the one thing I hated was the romance. Yes, I know this book is labeled as “paranormal romance”, but I expected something different. At the beginning I was a bit afraid of reading super cheesy scenes, but turns out this book is more focused on other themes rather than the romance. That was good, but even thought I liked the characters separately, I hated them together. I don't want to see the romance taking over the whole plot in the next book of this series. For being honest, that's what's making me doubt about purchasing the next book. I want to read more about the characters and the story, but I seriously cannot stand one more romantic scene.

I know this book is ultra famous, but it didn't caught my attention until this year. I wanted to read a book about characters who were dealing with culture and heritage problems, so when I read the synopsis of this book, I was delighted. This book, is an amazing example of how family, values, traditions and cultural beliefs can be hard to understand, especially if you were born in a culture and live in another.
I liked some stories more than others, but overall it was a very pleasant read. I've learned a lot about Chinese culture and traditions, and it made me realize my own situation. I liked the family dynamics portrayed in each story and how they worked everything out.
I think this book should be read by anyone who wants a deeper understanding of life in general.

When I pick up a science book, I like to read useful information based in facts. This book had some interesting facts and information I didn't know, so it was a pleasant read. However, there were some parts that I consider unnecessary. The chapters we're brief and engaging, but I feel like there was so much to explain and it needed more pages. I disagree with some points of view and statements of the author, but the major problem I had was the lack of evidence and resources. Overall, it was and OK book.

I had HIGH expectations for this book. I thought it was going to be an awesome story about well developed characters, a game between two masterminds, but what I got is just disappointment. For a moment I thought I was reading a YA book because the characters seemed too immature, naive, and sometimes stupid. The whole purpose of the revenge was because Jordana had done something UNFORGIVABLE to Kerrie. However, almost at the end of the book, when the big revelation happened, it was incredible and ridiculous to me. I didn't like the characters or the plot, but it kept me entertained for a while. That's why I can't rate this with one star.

I don't know what I was expecting from this book, for being honest. However, this turned out to be surprising. The whole book is about a single mother trying to raise her daughter and it's not very interesting. at a certain point I wanted to give up the book. The author describes the mundane life of the protagonists, and it got boring after a while.
What I liked about the story was the use of symbolism. It fit the scenes perfectly and it had a philosophical side.
