Heartwarming. That's the word that comes to my mind when I think about this book.
I've been used to Higashino's complex mysteries, but I never thought I could read a book by him so intricate and heartwarming at the same time. It just shows his abilities as a writer and how he can easily write any genre he wants.
This book is one of my favorites now.
Well, this is awkward. I had hopes for this book, but the art... gosh, I really hate the art.
I don't know how the story will end, since it seems like there's much more to this world to cover in just 3 graphic novels. Besides, this volume was slower than the previous one, so I have no idea how this is going to end.
I'm still gonna read volume 3, but I definitely prefer Sanderson's novels.
I'm not very sure about my rating. I like Harry, he's an interesting guy. But the story was sometimes predictable and a bit boring. And at the same time, other scenes were exciting and captivating. So I'm not very thrilled about continuing this series.
I'm going to read the second book. If I like it more than this one, I might continue the series.
Rating: 4.5 ⭐️
Although I absolutely love Sanderson's prose and writing style, I've always wanted to see a graphic adaptation of his works. This first volume was a good start. I can't say I'm a fan of the art style, but I did like the story, characters and magic system. I have a lot of questions because this trilogy is related to the Cosmere, so hopefully this series will answer some of my inquiries.

That Gone Girl blurb was what caught my attention. I was hoping to enjoy the story and be surprised by the plot twists, but that didn't happened. Both books were very predictable.
The plot of The Babysitter is quite obvious. You know who is the villain -the babysitter, in case you were wondering-, and of course, her motives. So, no surprises there. I had hopes with The Affair, and even though the beginning was ok, the middle and the ending weren't captivating or amusing.
Overall, I wouldn't say this a psychological thriller. It feels more like a contemporary drama. Nothing wrong with that, just that it's not what I was expecting and I'm definitely not the type of reader for that kind of book.

The only thing wrong with this book is Yennefer. I can't help it, I dislike her. She was bearable on The Last Wish, but not on this one, I couldn't stand her anymore.
Overall, I liked most of the stories, especially the new characters. I think they are a great foundation for the next novels. Can't wait to read them!
Just when I thought I understood almost everything, Sanderson surprised me with more revelations. I guess Kelsier was right, there is always another secret. I liked this book even more than The Final Empire, and that's saying much because I loved that book. If I had some concerns about the romance in the first book, I don't have any now. Sanderson portrayed a realistic relationship with flaws and problems. I really liked that. Besides, the story was amazing and it keep me at the edge of my seat. There were some dramatic moments, and I tried really hard to behave like a normal person and not to throw the book out the window. So, yeah, well done, Sanderson!
I shouldn't have read The Way of Kings before this book. It raised the bar too high.
Well, that's what I thought, but I'm so glad this book didn't disappoint me. Sanderson defy all trilogy clichés and, even though this isn't like WoK, it's perfect in its own way and completely unique. I'm already in love with the story and the characters. One thing I don't quite buy is the romance. It's a matter of preference, I just don't like insta love. However, I'm willing to see what will happen in the future.
I absolutely love it! I enjoyed every adventure and I cannot wait to see more of Geralt and, of course, Dandelion too.
My only complaint here is the lack of maps. I need maps, people! I need to know where I'm going. And also it'd be really helpful to have the translations of the dwarf's language. I understood them in context, but I want to make sure I understood correctly. Overall it was an awesome book!!
I don't know what expectations I had with this book. I was looking for something different, something that could be amusing and intriguing, or maybe even a story that could get me in the genre. But it didn't happen. I tried really hard to enjoy the book, but it was so boring I couldn't push myself to even finish it. The main plot seemed somewhat interesting, though it's definitely not for me.

The mystery itself was great. It had interesting twists that kept me guessing until the end. But I disliked the characters (not IQ though), so it was hard for me to care about them and keep reading. I don't think I'll continue reading this series just because I'm afraid all the characters will be like the ones in this book.

There's one thing that stands out from this book: the writing. It's superb! I really highly enjoyed the writer's style. She delved into the characters personalities and their development was incredible to see. However, the thing that made me give this two stars is the plot. It's predictable. You already know how it's going to end. Unfortunately, that was the disappointing part.

It's hard to write a review of a book that was mind-blowing and so epic that I feel like my words aren't enough to describe it. I've loved every book I own by Brandon Sanderson, but with this one I'm giving him my eternal devotion. Even if he publishes the alphabet, I'm sure he'll find a way to make it epic. So, yeah, I need more stars to rate this book. The grandness of this book is as big as the Cosmere!
