This book started really well.
The narrative was quick, captivating and mysterious. At the beginning, I perfectly understood Emma's reasons. She was so in love with Lucas and she wanted him to be okay. Then, when he suddenly got better and the logic explanation came, I was delighted.
The story was magnificent... at least the first fifty pages. Then, I started to hate Emma. I felt she was selfish and at every moment she said how much she missed Lucas and how badly she wanted him back. The romance became cheesy and I couldn't stand it.
The idea of combining romance with sci-fi was great at first, but then it became weird... really weird. That's why I can't say that I liked this book. Actually, I have mixed feelings, by one side I hate it and the other side of me says it was ok.
I'd like to try another book by this author. I'm quite sure she has another books that I could like.

Imagine you're in your car starting a road trip. The landscapes outside are the most beautiful you've ever seen. The air is delicious and you're enjoying this experience. But suddenly, the car stops and you are lost in the middle of nowhere. You still like the scenery, but you want to continue your traveling and not being stuck in that place.
That's exactly how I feel.
The artwork was just fantastic. I enjoyed looking at them every single page, and that's the main reason why it took me so long to read. The story was captivating and beautifully written. There was a strange sensation in the air that caught me and didn't let me go. And then, the book was over!
Seriously, this was more a prologue than an actual book. Although I know there's a sequel, I'd have prefer to read both stories in just one book instead of two.
I still recommend this book. It was enjoyable and I can't complain, but it'd be better if you purchase the second book too, so you won't be frustrated.

I enjoy reading children books because they're funny and pretty easy to read. This one was fabulous. I loved the story and it was quite addictive too. I listened to Gulliver's travels audiobook long time ago so I didn't remember much of the story but Lilliput is a great standalone and it can be read separately. One thing that I didn't like was Lily. Sometimes she was annoying and I found myself hating her and I couldn't stand her more. That's why I cannot give this book a higher rating. However I still recommend this books because it's worth it.
Gotta be honest. At the beginning I was lost.
“Am I really reading The Sanction series? Is this a continuation of Purenet?”
That's why it took me so long to read it: Because after the first pages, I give myself a break to remember Purenet and try to connect it with Aurum.
BUT after I decided to try again, I was sooo relieved that Trinity -the new character- was really cool to catch up and it was really easy to like her.
As always, this book was fast, fun and with a lot of suspense; and although I was expecting Skylier and her family, I enjoyed Dax's point of view and his adventures with Trinity.
Aurum has open new possibilities and questions that I don't know how are they going to be resolved, but until now, this series is getting better and better!!
Also, it was pretty captivating to know more about the world and how it works. I know that they are a lot of Sanctions, so I hope to meet each of them :)
Thanks to the author for providing me this copy. This fact didn't influence the review.
I wanted to hate this book but unfortunately I couldn't.
I never really liked the main characters -Kate, Mac and even Nick- and also I was sick and tired of the sex scenes.
The only reason why I kept reading the two previous books was because of the publishing world and the narrative. The author is amazing and I love her shorts but deep chapters and I couldn't help but love the writing style. Also, the story was really well constructed and very unpredictable.
Although I didn't enjoyed the main characters, I did love Viviene, Ruth Ann, Grace and of course, Allan, and everytime they where on scene, I celebrated:
And -again- even when I didn't like Nick too much, I was Team Nick because I really hated Mac so I was relief when the ending came.
Recently, I read on the author's blog that she's thinking of writing a book about Viviene, and if so, I'll be definitely give it a try because Viviene is just such a great character and she deserves her own book.
I won this book through GoodReads and I thank to the author for providing me this copy but this fact didn't influence the review.
I liked Edward but never Kim, so I was kind of happy not to see her. By other side, Meggs was really cool and it was easy to get along with her. I hate when some authors make the story more creepy and bloody than it actually is, so this one was quite of it. The inclusion of a new character like Eli was pretty interesting although I didn't enjoy his participation as much as I enjoyed Megan and Edward.
However, the artwork was stunning!! And maybe with the next volume this can get better.

I picked up this book because I always wanted to read The scarlet letter but I wasn't sure, so this manga was the perfect excuse to read it.
I loved the graphics and how the story was pretty well told. I enjoy every page and I definitely felt each one of the characters. However, I was confused by the supernatural stuff that some parts had. I'm pretty sure that this isn't in the original book.
Still this is a good adaptation and it'll make you want to read more classics.

I think this story is great, but there's something that didn't convinced me so much: The narrative.
I felt like the author was watching and telling me the movie, and I couldn't connect with the story. That's pretty sad because I TOTALLY LOVE Travis Thrasher's writing style but unfortunately not with this one.
