I'm bilingual and I've never read Isabel Allende's books before. She writes in Spanish but I got this one in English and I gave it a try.
Usually when I read books originally written in English and then translated to Spanish, there are some sentences that sound quite weird although they make perfect sense in English. The same thing happened to me with this book. Some sentences were a little bit confusing so I ended up buying the book in Spanish -which I think was a wise decision.
Though I'd like to say that I enjoyed the book, unfortunately I didn't. With this I don't mean the book was bad, but it wasn't the best either.
The story was interesting but it was too descriptive. I'm the type who likes more ‘show-me' and less ‘tell-me'. I think it needed more dialogues too.
In conclusion, maybe in the future I'll pick one of her books again but it's going to be definitely in Spanish.

I read this in one sitting. Truly addictive! I'm in love with this book. The characters were charming and they make me laugh and blush sometimes. Though the romance was kind of odd to me because I'm not into love at first sight, but the story was so captivating that I couldn't help but wanting more of Gabi and Marcello. I'm definitely continuing this series!
4.5 stars
Awesome as usual, Andrew Klavan writes a fast, haunting and mesmerizing story of a very well developed hero.
My problem was that I guessed a twist in the story, which surprises me because I have never done this before. Despite of that, this is an incredible adventure and I'm looking forward to read the next book!
Well, this is... interesting.
Have to admit I almost fall asleep in the middle of the book, although it's not the story's fault but because of the narrator. Honestly, her voice made me sleep...
I have the audiobook version, and I usually love audiobooks, however this one seemed to flawless to me. I couldn't connect with the story, either the characters. I wasn't surprised when the main twist came, but I still enjoyed the listening. Somehow, it kept me worried enough to want to know the ending and that's the reason why I finished this book.
I'm not quite sure if I could ever buy the physical book and read it or if I re listen to the audiobook, but maybe -just maybe- I'll be checking Stephanie Clifford's upcoming books.

From all the books that I've read in my life, this is the first about fairies... Yeah, shame on me!
I truly didn't know what to expect from this story, especially because I wasn't quite sure if I would enjoy it or not. However, I was kindly surprised because the story totally grab me. I read this in one sitting and couldn't take my eyes off the book.
The story is unique. The characters were interesting and I loved how the scenes changed from one character to another. However I didn't find many turns in the plot. It was an OK read but not amazing, still, I recommend it!

This is a unique book. I've never read a book like this before. The writing was amusing. The combination of two points of view was clever. The story heartbreaking. But the ending? That was what killed me. I guess I was expecting a happier ending. Still this is such a good book! I'm definitely going to read more Carol Lynch Williams' books.
Suffrajitsu: The beginning was captivating but somehow I got lost with the ending. I didn't get it at all and it left me with the sensation that has more books after this one. The art was really great. I loved the colors and the drawings. But, as I said before, I have issues with the ending. That's why my rating for this is 2 stars.
The dead god: This one was my favorite of this book. The narrator was totally likeable. He was funny, clever and truly knew how to cheer a story up. The art was impressive and the colors were just perfect for the story. My rating: 3.5 stars.
Symposium: Unfortunately, I didn't like this one. I didn't understand the story and just finished reading because I wanted to know the ending -which by the way, wasn't satisfying- so I'm kind of disappointed. My rating: 1 star.

I had high expectations for this book.
Have you read the synopsis? Well, that was what caught me too.
Unfortunately as soon as I stated reading, I became more and more disappointed.
I don't get the 5 stars and the excited reviews of other readers. I really don't get it.
First: I hated Amber. She is one of the worst narrators I've ever read. If she would have died on page 20 I wouldn't have minded. The author didn't make any effort to make me like Amber. She was childish, sometimes really stupid and with no sense at all.
Second: Derio is spoiled and a total idiot. What he needed wasn't a girlfriend but a THERAPIST! A really good one! He was so wrecked up and acted like a total imbecile most of the time, but when he wanted to have sex with Amber, he became the perfect Italian lover.
Third: The synopsis promised me a good tension between Derio and Amber, but heck no! There was only two scenes of fighting but all the time -and since they met- there was a lot of instant lust and sexual tension between them.
Fourth: The broken almost-ugly girl who somehow manages to gain the heart of a perfect and rich troubled man. Yeah, sure! That is so real! Happens all the time! I know this is fiction but are you kidding me?! That is so cliché!
Fifth: How is it possible that a total irresponsible and immature girl can save and rehab a man so messed up?
Sixth: The story was predictable. There weren't any surprises at all. You know how it starts, of course you know what is the main twist and so the end is expected.
Seventh: First lust, then sex and finally love... I'm sorry but I don't buy it. This is fiction but even fiction has to have a real situation, and honestly I can't believe this surreal story.
Eight: There was too much sex. This is a romance book or an erotic one? Maybe it's my fault for not paying attention to the description. I don't know...
Ninth: It was so cheesy that my eyes hurt. The only time when I celebrated was when they broke up. I was so happy to see them separate because I couldn't stand them together.
In conclusion: I'm really pissed off because I wasted my time reading this book. I hated it. Didn't enjoy any word or scene. Even when this book was free, I'm regretting that I read it.

Christmas is my favorite season of the year so I was thrilled when I had the opportunity to read this book.
What a way of starting a book! I mean, I've never expected to start with a big I-don't want-to-marry-you-YET scene.
Usually romantic books tell you how the protagonist fall in love. But this one is about discovering love again and finding our purpose.
The writing is sweet but honest and has a good pace. The story makes you grow your love for Christmas.
This book is not only perfect to read in Christmas but for anytime. The ending was not disappointing at all and it left me with a feeling of hope.

Although I like to read different fiction genres, I find middle grade/children's books very lovely and they become my favorites very quickly.
This book was really promising. Myron is a boy you learn to love and understand through the pages. He has a different way of learning, so his point of view was unique and very pleasant to read. The other characters were sweet and compliment Myron perfectly.
However I complain about the story. I felt like it needed more character development and also more mystery. It's a great book for kids and I hope it gets better with the next books.

I don't understand why people is rating this book... IT HASN'T COME OUT YET!!!
UPDATE: Well, it's released now. Go ahead people! Rate it while I'm still fighting with my long TBR :(
UPDATE:
I'm a Dekkie, which means I know Ted's writing style and what kind of books he writes. Of course, AD 30 was completely different from his previous books and so is AD 33.
We follow Maviah in her journey to meet Yeshua; and it's not the typical good-vs-evil novels by Ted Dekker but a very insightful book with a lot of message and meaning.
I'm delighted because the story grabbed me and took me to ancient times, and also because it helped me to see Yeshua and His disciples in a way I have never done before.
This trilogy is getting better and better, I cannot wait for the next book to come out!
A beautiful book of prayers.
I don't have relatives or friends in the military, but my heart aches for soldiers and I can't even imagine how hard must be for them and their families. This book encouraged me to pray for soldiers and people who are in the war.
I'll always keep them on my prayers and surely this book is going to be a good devotional.
Even if like me, you don't have a loved one in the military, I think this book is a great great read, so everybody can read it.

I picked up this book mainly because I love Tosca's writing and books about writers, so I had greater expectations and I must say it's a tie.
The pace was a bit slow but the story was quite great. Lucian's motivations explained a lot of things I wanted to know although I was waiting for more action. However I enjoyed the reading so I'm looking forward for the next book by this incredible author.
Just when I think women can't write bloody and action scenes, comes H. J. Lawson to prove me I'm wrong.
This is a kicking way of starting a series. Want romance? You got it. Want action? You got it. Want suspense? You got it. Want a heartbreaker ending? You got it!!
I'm really intrigued for the upcoming books and I want to know how this is going to fit in the series.
PS: The cover is pretty cool!
-I received a book from the author in exchange for my honest opinion, which I did-
This is the most disturbing and darkest book I've ever read.
I was looking for something different and since I saw Gillian Flynn's name everywhere, I simply knew I had to read one of her books, so instead of picking up the famous Gone girl, I went with this one.
The story was great. Not the fast paced suspense I was expecting but a mysterious one full of surprises and crazy theories.
The characters... Oh well, they all are messed up. If you're looking for a book with a great hero, then buy another book. This one doesn't have good characters. All of them are insane in some way. Probably Curry and Eileen are the only ones who are not crazy but they don't appear too much in the story.
Camille is definitely not your classic super heroine type. She only does her job and tries to live with her weird family. Also, she's not mentally healthy and sometimes I was wondering about her sanity too.
The ending was... I still don't know. I guess I'll continue figuring it out because it gave me the creeps.
Maybe, just maybe, I'll buy another book by this author.
