this I reckon was my favourite book in the series. it very nicely concluded the series and delivered a lot of the wondering thoughts and questions that I had. The choice of main characters was surprising but worked out well.
was worried that i would hate this book. however it turned out better than the “they both die at the end” it still had a bit of cringe ‘everything is connected vibes', however, the story was more exciting, emotional and very coming of age. a decent read
pretty good. cute pics and backstory on the history of heartstopper and it's characters
This book surprised me, I wasn't sure how the series could have a third book but somehow the storyline was unique and purposeful, I was excited to read and enjoyed the fact that this book was significant less “childish” feeling. It continued with the lore and legacy left by the previous entries while at the same time nicely concluded everything.
i can't remember what the first book was like, and can't tell if i've matured, or if this book just didn't deserve a sequel. found it hard, slow and a bit boring to read. there was some decent storyline points. but it felt way too fluffed up, and overly long. feel the first book would have stood better as a standalone
was told this book was good and interesting. sadly i found it a bit bland and confusing:( too many characters with similar names made the plot hard to follow for me
honestly wanted to like this book. however, feel the first would have stood way better as a stand-alone. this book seemed unnecessarily long, lots of filler content and yet a rushed plot line. the first while not the best either, it had potential but this one falls short on that
Think this is one of Alice Oseman's best books. I like how even though it was her first, and it ties very nicely into all her other characters, ie, nick and Charlie. I like how the book has dark themes, and I think it was executed very well
this book and storyline was much deeper and meaningful then I originally thought. very epic. i like
Not the biggest fan of the writing style, it felt a bit childish and too fast paced. However, the plot and storyline I really liked and found engaging, and I could even envision / imagine how a lot of the scenes looked
Much more depth than the second book. Good pacing of events, and a nice conclusion. Had a few flaws but probably my favourite in the series
Tbh spent the first half of this book complaining it was trash, and describing it as the “wattpad version of Red, White & Royal Blue”. However, around half way through I started to notice and appreciate the level of character development, the pacing of events and the writing style. Overall this book was a decent read.
It was okay. However, the story felt too short and lacking in depth when compared to the first book in the trilogy
Coming from Radio Silence, I found this book to seem a bit too rushed? It seemed very fast paced, and too focused on a happy ending, despite a lot of drama. I feel this made some of the characters appear a bit shallow. However I really like the exposure of aromantic asexual relationships this book provides, which at least to me was the first time I've experienced this representation in a book.
short story, about becky from solitaire, only posted online. Was kinda not the best, due to short story + romance not being the best, however, liked the lore of it connecting to other characters, and it was written kinda good
Was a bit worried this book would be a bit cliché and a little trashy. However, ended up loving it and the depth of the story and characters surprised me. There was a few unrealistic elements however overall it was an excellent read
Impressed by the quality of this book. Coming from Heartstopper I was pleasantly surprised to see that Alice Oseman is talented not only at drawing, but writing as well. Found the writing style to be impressive, in the sense of relatable and deep
This book was alright. I thought the original concept of two boys trying to find each other in New York seemed really cute. However, I disliked the rebound nature of the relationship, and the forced awkward start. I typically also dislike the concept of couples breaking up and getting back together, but here that maybe seemed to work. However the immaturity of the characters, with things such as trust and jealousy issues did give me the ick. Alternately this did build some foundations for character development. But even that was a bit rushed, and they changed almost overnight. I liked the ending, however that also felt rushed and lacking in emotional depth.
The main reason swaying me towards liking this book is I think the overall theme of the story is: love has many variations and there's many ways to make it work. I feel this is apparent not only for the Ben and Arthur but also within the parent's relationship, and the main characters friendships / connections with other side characters. I feel this is a good message to portray, and focusing on this message, the book seems to have a better purpose and stronger storyline.
For most of the book, I disliked the writing style, and the book has a weird focus on “interconnectivity” of life. The writing seemed too simple, but also the story seemed too often jump between being too slow by also too fast, brushing over detailed. I also generally dislike the concept of a 1-day love story, However, towards the end the book, I feel the level of emotion increasingly picked up. In the end I was surprised / impressed that I felt more emotion than I was expecting from a book with such a foreshadowing title
a classic Alice oseman story. the book was good, storyline was good.
I originally rated this book 4/5 stars, but almost a year later I keep thinking about it and the plot. I think this book might actually be one of my favourite Alice Oseman books
this book was beautiful and probably my favourite by this author. the book was super emotive and the writing was very powerful. would recommend
