See allI don't know how SJM does it but she never misses. This book is fantastic.
The characters are so easy to understand even if one has never been in their shoes. They aren't unidimensional, they're complex and make mistakes which makes them even more likeable, even more human.
Also, I'm enjoying the 3rd person + multiple POVs a whole lot more than I used to, maybe my taste has changed or it's just SJM's writing.
This is an amazing book. I can't wait to continue Celaena's story!!
This book was a let down. And I wasn't even looking for anything that would blow my mind, just a light read.
At first, I really liked Rowan and Zahra's personalities. They were really stereotypical (grumpy and sunshine) but it really seemed like there would be a bit more to them than just that. Soon enough their personalities fall flat and the characters and everything they do feels really repetitive.
The tension was great!! But when the spice finally arrived... they felt awkward, generic and not written with the characters in mind.
This book!!!
I went into it expecting a fun read before diving into The Ashes & The Star Cursed King but I absolutely loved it.
The story was beautifully crafted and the characters had depth.
The plot was great, never felt like it lacked but from what I've read, Carissa Broadbent really knows how to create complex stories.
Lilith quickly became one of my all time favorite main characters❤️
Vale was a beautifully written love interest, so utterly in love, soft and angsty. So respectful and helpful. A breath of fresh air from many fantasy men.
I'll be thinking about their story for long.
I really liked this series, overall I think it was great. That being said, I think this book is the weakest one. The dialogues felt repetitive, to the point where the boys' personalities felt like just one and the story felt a bit rushed and not really surprisive.
Sure, it had it's cute moments and it was great to see the characters' story come to an end, but it's bittersweet to end a good series on a low note.
Morgan Elizabeth never fails me when I need a cozy rom-com. I looooooved Ava and Jaime, their tension was palpable from their first interaction and the banter was amazing.
The book had me giggling and kicking my feet!! And the smut was beautifully written as always. This might be my favorite book that I've read by her!!
