This is the exact ending to the stories in the Trylle world we needed. Although I was kind of disappointed with the lack of action in the first two books of the series, I knew it was needed to set up the final events. And WOW did Amanda Hocking deliver! The world she created will stay with me forever and the characters and their back stories will always have a place in my heart!
Loved the story and its diversity!!!! I felt like I needed more depth to make the story just that bit better. I guess I just expected a little more.
YESSSSS this book is simply incredible! It has all the things you would want in a book: female badass lead, library setting, tons of books, cute character moments, witty banter, it has it all! Giant recommend!
Oh yeah this is exactly what you want from a last book in a series!!! I loved Percy's character development in this one especially. I'm so proud of them all!
I'm certainly going to read more from Riordan because the humor in this one again is just the BEST!
I have mixed feelings about this book. I liked that it gave extra insight in the lives of Choal and Nesryn, but I also wasn't that invested in them so I didn't really need it.
Additionally, it was kind of hard to learn about a new land with very different history in just one book. So many new characters were introduced that I just couldn't keep up. Especially all the children of the Khagan were tough to remember.
I do love that Yrene is back! It really shows great planning that so many of the earlier characters reappear in the story. And in the end the story does tie back to where we left off in Empire of Storms. I can't wait to read the last book and I am very sad that there is only one book left. At least it's the thickest one yet!!
I read this book after Crown of Midnight, mostly because I was afraid that if I read it before Throne of Glass I would not be hooked as much because these are 5 short stories. However, this read like a book divided up into 5 parts. It really is just one story. And HOLY MOLY what a story that is!! Since I read Throne of Glass and Crown of midnight already, I knew certain things were going to happen. This did ruin a bit of the surprise especially of the last story, but it also made me appreciate so much that happens in Throne of Glass. A lot of the motivations behind Celeana's actions are explained in this book. I really liked it, but I would recommend people to read this one before they start reading Throne of Glass.
Wow wow wow!!! Shit went downnnnnn! I felt like the different characters finally got their back story and motivation in check so it was way easier to understand why they acted the way they did. Because not all characters were aware of the plans of other characters, I kept being surprised! This book also really tied back well with The Assassin's blade, which I loved!! And holy moly, the ending!!! Can't wait to read the next book to see what's gonna happen!
WOW WOW WOW WOW!!!
This was such an epic ending!! It really was worthy of the first books! I'm in love with all of them!
There is just one thing I would change:
Spoiler I would have loved for Nox and Aelin to meet and just be like hey we're buds right?, that would've been the BEST
The only thing I can really say is, I'll miss you Aelin, cadre, court and friends and allies <3 You will forever have a place in my heart!!
This book added a lot of new characters to the story. On the one hand that really added to the world building and the story. On the other hand though, I'm not as attached to these characters as I am to the OG characters of the story. This made me dread the chapters that did not include the OG characters. I do love how the story progresses and I have to say I did not expect the events that happened in this book. Can't wait to see what happens next!!
Holy moly! This book took turns I was not expecting and was NOT prepared for! I started to love a lot of the characters and when the second half of the book happened I really started to feel for the characters. This book is an absolute BANGER!
It took me a while to get into, but dang I love the world building. So many small things were considered and thought of and just wow! Can't wait to read what happens next
WHAT THE HECK?!?!?!? This book took turns I did not expect at all! The whole part 2 was just one big shock after the other!
Definitely a darker book than the first 2. Also can't believe it's over : ( I need more Pip!!!
Literally the more Pip the better! Another great mystery with twists and turns and very real emotions!!!! Absolute recommend!!!
THIS BOOK IS LITERALLY THE BEST!!!! It's witty and exciting and very mysterious. And also Pip is the person I aspire to be.
Yesssss bonus material!!! I especially loved the last one! You just gotta love an epilogue to a series!!!
The mystery in this book was AMAZING!! But I don't think I was prepared for the serious topics that were addressed. And I'm sure yet what to think of the ending?!?!?!
I was so looking forward to this book because the first book was so good! Yet it didn't deliver :(
The middle of the book was long and boring and only got interesting again in the last 50 or so pages. I hope that the third book is better.
Just great! It's clearly for people younger than me, but still super nice and not overly childish. And the mythology that was used was really well adapted to fit the story.
WOW!! The pace in this book was insane! Absolutely loved it and would recommend this to anyone! I really feel like this book is the best of the series by FAR!!
I also really appreciate the ending taking time to set the course for each character.
I had the feeling that this story kind of didn't continue upon what was left unsaid in the previous book but was kind of an in between event. Only in the end this changed. But this did make it less exciting to read or at least the stakes were lower which I found kind of sad. I did like that we got a lot more backstory about Lila that was great.
The world and story is very intriguing and I love both Kell and Lila. Can't wait to see what happens next!
It did take me a while to get into but that's because there is so much world building.
This was CLEARLY not the book for me. It was predictable, I couldn't relate to Auden at all and it was boring.
This book was funny but just not for me anymore. I should have read this wayyyy earlier and maybe then I would have enjoyed it. But now it was just very childish and Jess was kinda very annoying.
This was just not the book for me. I had this book for ages and I'm not sure why I had it to begin with. I think the subjects were handled really well and respectfully. I just don't really like these types of books.
This was not the book for me. I just didn't connect with the characters and the ending is not even close to satisfying to me.
