The first half was kind of bad and I was about to drop it, but all of a sudden, things changed a lot. I read the remaining half as well as the next two books in a matter of a week!
One of the best books I've read. Sci-Fi, but very touching and related to human emotions!
Interesting main idea, but can be summarized in a few pages. Other than that it felt like reading a bunch of other books, like habits building, finding your why, incremental changes.
Great entry level read. Digestible information regarding how our body works, how the immune system is set up and what parts it consists of. It describes what elements and nutritions you'll need and what is their effect on the body.
It happened I've read this one in a publication order, and therefore I kind of figured what will happen around 60th percent. Still a great read though!
It's noticeable that this book was written way later in Asimov's days. The pace is different, the story development is different. The book itself is quite good - it gives a lot of details that fit right in place if you're reading it last.
But there are some details that don't match the puzzle perfectly. It feels like he never had the chance to fully develop those storylines, which are out of place. Some of those would be Doris's death, as it's never known why would anyone like to hurt her, why Doris went to the meeting in the first place, are the mentalists having different functions and why those mentalists had to move away.
Anyways, it was a nice closure and I was happy I've read it!
I have a very mixed feelings about this one. The slowest of Asimov's, and one of the greatest endings of all. It could've been much shorter, much more concise as the previous ones, while having some true story. This one's full of dialogues and descriptions of the scenario and the planet's society.
There are some amazing ideas here, and there are some pretty boring and repeated ones. Was somehow hard to read for me.
It's unreal how Seth wrote this book more than 20 years ago. And most of it is still relevant. A must-have.
Re-read. Still great and adequate after so many years. The idea is not that innovative anymore, but still quite unpopular (unfortunately). A must read to everyone managing people, teams or companies. A great read for everyone struggling to maintain productivity and be persistent.
