CW: verbal abuse, domestic abuse, bullying, fighting, abandonment
This was a very quaint retelling of Hades and Persephone. I really enjoyed the connect between Percy and Hayden. I thought it was a genuine connection that could happen in high school. The almost immediate connect (cabin adventure) was not my favorite but it wasn't instalove either. Overall I enjoyed this story very much.

This novel is extremely strange. The creative genius that is Andrew Smith is so hypnotic that I was engrossed in the story. This novel took me a while to get through, but that is not because of the story. I loved the plot line of these boys having to fight for the end of the world and all the crazy shit they uncover about someone who lived in their town. It made the story very exciting.
The only problem I had with the story was all the repeating facts or information that was spread throughout the novel. I would read about something and then a few chapters, or in some instances, paragraphs, would have the same information. I found that to be incredibly annoying because I just read that same information. I think this novel would have been just as great without that added information.
Listened to the audiobook of this. I loved this. I honestly read it because it is a book that the 7th graders were reading at my school. I enjoyed the story, it kept me entertained. I wish I had more to say because I know the kids dissected the book.
Loved reading this book. Opened my mind up to the possibilities that I can have with my son when he gets older. I hope to have a scream-free household.
I was truly excited to read this book when I first heard about it. I was thrilled to read something about fangirls because I once was a fangirl in elementary school with my cousin about Sailor Moon.
Things I liked:
-Regan. I loved how outgoing and spunky she was about everything. I really liked that about her. It might have helped that she wasn't a freshman in college though.
-Cath and Wren's relationship, although Cath was too (s)motherly towards Wren.
-Cath and Levi's relationship was very cute but, unrealistic.
-How Wren wanted to be an individual when they went to college rather than be stuck with her sister. I thought that was genuine and honest. It was one of the more real things of this book. I am an only child but I can see that being a twin (my father is one) can get extremely annoying over the year so as soon as they have a chance to really be individuals Wren breaks free and goes head first out the door.
Things I disliked:
-Cath and Levi's relationship because of how unrealistic it was. Cath was afraid to touch, kiss, look at Levi for the longest time in the book because she was afraid of how far it might go? Really? That angered me so much.
-How Cath was representing the fangirl community. She was so very insecure with herself. Even in writing her fan fiction she was insecure without her sister there to guide her through. It was off putting and made my not sympathize where her as a main character.
-Cath never really had any strong opinions other than her hatred for her mother. I understand why she hates her mother but the fact that she is angry at her sister for wanting talk to their mother is absurd. She is smothering her sister that way.
-Cath was very sulking through most of the novel. This was bothersome because she was so afraid to try new things. It was insane how much she hated new things.
-How their father was around but he also wasn't. It upset me that the girls seemed to have to grow up too soon in their lives because their father's life went to shit after his wife left.
Overall:
This book was way too hyped to be a great book. It was a meh book to me. I honestly would only recommend to people who want to read a contemporary but I would warn them about everything.

I picked this novel up because DUH, the show was coming out and a friend of mine was reading it. I wanted someone to talk to about it as I read it. I LOVED the beginning of the novel. I loved the build up to the climax. All that was great.
The climax was eventful but also underwhelming. I don't know if I just had higher expectations from the climax was I was a little disappointed. The end of the novel, the last chapter, was kind of rushed and I felt like there was some added romance there that was NEVER introduced. It was something that you have to infer on your own. I don't mind that but I inferred that the romance would have never happened, :(
Loved the book, will recommend, but I don't see myself reading this again.
I love this book. At first I hated the book because of the way it was written but after getting further into the book I absolutely loved it! I want to read Maria's other book asap!
I absolutely loved this book. It kept me interested the entire time reading. I first thought it was going to be just like the hunger games but it was a completely different read. Yes is was still a post apocalyptic novel but it wasn't as depressing as I thought it would be. So glad I was able to grab this book and read it.
This was really good. I'm upset at myself for finishing the series like this because now I have to wait for Winter to come out to get anything. UGH

Listened to most of this all in one day. I loved the banter between Izzy and Blake. I don't necessarily agree with the romance.
Astounding
I am taken back by the writing in the novel. I cried. I laughed. I yelled at Celie many times. I wanted to kill Mr. I hated that she wasn't with her sisters, Nettie. I highly recommend this read. It was not what I expected. Simple yet so eloquent.
This was such a cute read. I can't wait to get to the next books in the series. I loved this novel. If you fancy a quick and simple read grab this!
I loved the math that was added to the book because it made it somewhat simple because it is fourth grade level maths.
Overall the story was interesting. The way it was told was not. I did not really likes this book. There were more things in this book that bothered me than things I enjoyed.
Things I enjoyed:
-Mermaids.
Things I did not enjoy:
-I hated how Banks wrote the thoughts of Galen and Emma. There was never any clear transition between the two when you were reading what was in their heads. I was constantly having to check to see who was actually talking to find out who was thinking those thoughts.
-It was very predictable, almost to the extinct that it was not worth reading because of how predictable it was.
-The book at the beginning talked about Chole as a friend of Emma's but throughout the rest of the book Chole was talked about as though she was Emma's sisters for some reason. That never made sense to me.
Overall
-This story could have been a great story but it just wasn't. There were too many things wrong with the book that I do not think I will continue on with the series.
This book was great. I wanted to read cover to cover in one sitting. I am so sad to have to wait a few months before thd final piece of the series is available. I'm glad to know that the end of this book was nicely done to where you don't have to read the final installment but I'm excited to get it.
This Bridgerton story was so tender honestly. I really enjoyed how both Francesca and Micheal were really pulled towards each other but they didn't want to harm any memory of John they both had. It was very sweet, and steamy once they both understood that John would have wanted them to be happy together.

I adored this novel in the Bridgerton Series. It made me love Penelope and Colin even more than I already did. The love between them is so pure!
This was captivating and misleading the entire time (in a good way). I never really knew what to expect with each chapter because everything was always in question right until the very end.
