3/5 - I had such high hopes for the 2nd installment of the The Lost Lords of Pembrook series, but alas for the most part this was truly disapointing.
Again like the previous book, the start was very promising but increasingly got very lackluster. I found Tristan the most entertaining of the 3 brothers and just wished for the majority that the plot was going to turn out differently. The parts on the ship where by far the best, once on land it fell apart for me.
3/5 - I thought going into this book it was going to be a 5/5 read due to the really strong start, I was hooked.
But deary me it fell flat in the middle, it did pick up a bit towards the end but not enough to warrant a higher rating unfortunately.
I did, for the most part, enjoy the 2 love interests but the repetitive nature of the book I found really frustrating, just seemed to be circling through the same plot line over and over again.
Confused me how Mary went from being so strong at the start, breaking the brothers out of captivity to being so so meek throughout the middle of the book.
However, the 3 brothers where super interesting characters and their broken backgrounds made for a angsty read. I looks forward to reading the 2 other books in the series.
5/5 - Definitely the best book in the series, I went into this knowing it was super super hyped so was sceptical, however for the majority it didn't disappoint!
I didn't know a thing about this book before reading and was rather surprised to see that Sebastian St. Vincent was the love interest, considering how deeply unpleasant he was in the previous book. However, his redemption story is well worth a read!
Only thing is I wish it had not have take place so much inside the gambling club, I found the section in Gretna Green so much more enjoyable. But other than that was very good!
3/5 - Decent historical romance but not best I have ever read, I've heard other books in the series are much better (especially Devil in Winter) so will be reading rest!
4.5/5 - Glad to see this was wayyyy better than what I was expecting!
Daisy was my least favourite of the Wallflowers in the rest of the series but her story in this book was really sweet.
Scenes between Daisy and Matthew were really romantic and thought they weere a strong pair together.
Lillian and Westcliff were too present in this book, I just don't fully buy that they are compatible. And Lillian just irritated me endlessly throughout.
But all in all solid read, glad to see the Wallflower series has ended on a high. Devil in Winter (to no surprise) will forever be my favourite in the series though!
