Мені так подобається читати про те, що я ніколи не буду робити сама. Я на Еверест і так не дуже збиралась, але після цієї книги я б туди не пішла, навіть якби мені за то платили.

Я дивилась кілька документалок про підйом на вершини вище 8000 м. Але тут це сприймається зовсім по іншому. На відео всі зазвичай дуже захоплені і енергійні, навіть коли дуже втомлені. В книзі було набагато більше відвертості про те, як насправді людина почувається на такій висоті ці два місяці (спойлер: дуже недобре).

Сама трагедія того, що відбувалось тим і трагічніша, що це було не якесь природне лихо (лавина чи якась особливо холодна погода незвична для тих місць), а просто сукупність маленьких рішень, які накладались одне на одного і привели до того, чого привели.

I'm so sorry that I've spent any time on this book at all. Where first book had more or less some plot, here it felt like never ending rambling. Over and over again. And again. And one more time.
By the way, cardboard characters have more personality than characters in this book.

I expected more after hearing a lot of good things about this series. This one is just a weird one for me with very few at least somewhat likeable characters.

Це була зовсім не весела історія. А чим далі, тим вона ставала темніша і темніша.

I have a mixed feelings about this one. I guess, that I just feel a bit tired of this series. Well, the last book was especially long. I felt as if I was done with this characters in the middle of the story, but they still had so many things to do and I was not just here for that.

Overall there was so much drama in the series, but very little of it felt like it had real impact. All characters wished to be good characters so strongly, so any conflict just felt flat. Especially, I couldn't understand the need for secrets in the friend group. In regards to that, it was not so believable to me, that the adults, that were in the heart of things in the Infernal Devices would just stand by when all of this was going on.

Another thing that was quite weird is some of the attitude to certain things. In the Mortal Instruments some characters were gay and it was such a big no-no with shadowhunters. But here we are in last hours, just one hundred years prior and we have 5 openly gay characters and almost everyone is super okay with that. This feels like a general plothole for the timeline.

I've seen couple of reviews with disagreement about certain character death and I agree. That character was done dirty. Their death was just skipped over for the plot and it really felt like nobody cared so why should I?

Now I see, that I mostly concentrated in the negative things. It wasn't all that bad, and there were some really nice moments. I have no regrets reading this series.

Графічні романи не часто мені трапляються, але цей дуже сподобався. Є в цьому щось дуже серіальне.

Ця книга викликала в мене суперечливі емоції. З однієї сторони вона мені сподобалась і я дуже хотіла її читати далі. Але в результаті я трохи розчарована. Я прийшла за теоріями змови. У назві в нас теорії змов. Я прийшла почитати чому люди їх створюють, чому в них вірять і як вони впливають на наш світ. А отримала максимально поверховий огляд, де автор зупинявся посеред цікавих моментів і писав, що далі про це писати не буде, бо тоді ця книга буде дуже великою чи ще якесь виправдання.

Ще одним великим моментом, який мене розчарував, є точка зору автора, що українці менш конспірологічні, ніж інші люди. Можливо, тут вплинула бульбашка автора, бо може його оточення і менше піддається цьому впливу. Я ж якось в моєму житті стикаюсь з протилежним, і чого тільки варті віра деяких людей, що перебої з електропостачанням було, бо то влада експортувала енергію в Європу ( а не тому, що росія знищувала енергетичну інфраструктуру), впевненість моєї тітки, що війну в Україні зробив Папа Римський і як вишенька на торті - наклейка fake pandemic на дверях готелю в Карпатах, в якому я була в березні.

Well, the main character is 16. And she is very shy. I can relate to he shyness, but at some moments I wanted to scream at her to do something.

I should've read this one sooner. But I'm glad that I did now.

It was very consise and thoughtful overview of mutual influences between a number of countries. There were a lot of thing about russia, that I never considered before. Maybe if I did, the 24th February 22 was less of a surprise for me.

Ah, the magic of Harry Potter. It doesn't matter how many times you read it. You love it anyway.

Overall, I had mixed feelings about The Sanatorium by Sarah Pearse. While the plot was okay, I didn't find it particularly enjoyable or gripping. The short chapters were one aspect I appreciated, as they helped to keep the story moving along.

Although I wasn't exactly on the edge of my seat while reading, I found the isolated setting of the hotel and the mysterious events that were unfolding there to be intriguing. However, I wasn't fully invested in the characters and their motivations, and the resolution of the plot didn't quite live up to my expectations.

That being said, I must mention that the Ukrainian edition of the book is stunning, with its yellow colored edges adding a special touch to the overall aesthetic of the book. While I'm glad I read The Sanatorium, I don't think I would be interested in reading any further books in the series.

Pathfinder was like a puzzle, where in the end all details came to form a giant picture. However Ruins have made me understand that nothing is as it seems to be.

Leave the World Behind was a huge disappointment for me. The writing was confusing and made it difficult to discern who was speaking. Additionally, I found the unnecessary sexualization of certain elements in the book to be off-putting. While the premise of the book had meager potential, it didn't deliver at all.

The book's portrayal of a city-wide blackout as a catastrophic event seemed unrealistic given recent events, such as the electricity shortages in Ukraine due to multiple massive rocket attacks by Russia.
The main character even didn't suffer from it, because all they experienced so far was not working cell service. Their fear just didn't make any sense at all. There were so many illogical moments in this book, that it drives me crazy. The city is 20 minutes away from them and they are afraid for some reason to drive there. Why? I don't know. Their son's teeth started falling out and they didn't get him to a doctor. Like why? For the last third of the book the adult characters were screaming that they are PARENTS and they did nothing? Because they were scared to go to the city? I don't believe that at all. You get over yourself when you fear for someone else, especially your kid.

The most annoying thing for me is that the charecters didn't even want to find out what happened. Oh I guess that the author just coundn't come up with what so catastrofic had to happen. What a great way out.

Overall, I didn't appreciate the lack of effort and editing put into this book. I have a strong impresion that the author has a strong dislike of Barack Obama and just want to write his fantasy of president hiding in the bunker. There was no logic or resolution in the book whatsoever.

I can certainly understand, why I managed to fall in love with Harry Potter series starting with this particular book. Well, I loved Philosopher's Stone and Chamber of Secrets no less, but Prisoner of Azkaban is the one that started the Harry Potter journey for me.

Пора визнати, що яне та аудиторія для цієї книги. Мені дуже сподобався стиль автора. І історія Аньєси. Але я людина лінійна і я люблю лінійність в сюжеті. Та ще й більшість метафор сприймаю через раз. Як досвід - почитати цікаво, але чи наважусь я на це ще раз? Хто зна.

З цією книгою у мене точно не було любові з першого речення. І навіть не з сотого. Перша половина книги була непростою. Від головної героїні я явно була не в захваті. Та й якісь часто повторювані описи чи кліше теж спочатку дратували. Але якось сторінка за сторінкою все це вже почало мені подобатись і навіть дуже подобатись. Тепер от ще наступну книгу авторки доведеться читати

Поки що це моя улюблена манга (так я прочитала тільки перший випуск). Мені так подобається стиль авторки. Ці повносторінкові пейзажі хочеться вішати на стінах.

Я нічого не зрозуміла. Що читала, що не читала.

Було важко вникнути на початку, але чим далі, тим більше мені подобалось. Хоча все ще не знаю, чи буду читати цю серію далі. Хоча кінець цієї частини й дуже заінтригував.

Все ще моя улюблена манга. Хочу просто сидіти і дивитись на ці сторінки.
Але це все ще підступно робити такі кінці -_-

Цікава книга. Для мене це вже друга книга про кухарів диктаторів за короткий період. І от я дивлюсь, що в радянському союзі, що в Уганді чи Іраку - кухарі все так само відірвані від життя як і ті диктатори. От ніхто з них нічого поганого не бачив. А всі диктатори як один були невимогливі в їжі, правда їли тільки те, що для них вирощувалось на їхніх фермах. І не дай бог хтось інший з'їсть їжу приготовану їх власним кухарем. Зазвичай це ще й відбувається на фоні того, коли в їхній країні інші люди ледве знаходять, що поїсти і придумають такі делікатеси, як суп з кори дерева.

Хтось тут ще влучно підмітив, що коли до влади приходять комуністи, чомусь відразу пропадає вся їжа.

Ця книга мене вимучила. Я не хочу про неї ні думати, ні писати. Моментами, там було цікаво. Але все це було надто довго. Мені так хотілось би скоротити кожен з розділів рівно вполовину.

Мені все ще дуже подобається стиль автора і сама розповідь. Єдине, що мене починає хвилювати, то це те, що всього вийшло сім томів цієї манги і вона ще ніби як онгоінг японською. Здається, я буду чекати її до моєї старості, бо там один випуск в рік виходить. На що я підписалась?

Мені сподобалось наскільки структурованою є ця книга, все дуже коротко і зрозуміло. Багато прикладів фотографій, які відразу ілююструють те, що автор хотів пояснити.

Мені подобається читати про сходження на восьмитисячники, бо я знаю, що сама я туди нізащо не піду.
