Nice and short, doesn't go much in depth but covers a range of topics like money, relationships, health, philosophy, leadership, happiness. I listened to an audiobook and I'll probably reread the book at some point because it's quite a lot of information packed into a few hours of listening and topics change rather quickly. There is a "further reading" chapter to continue your research. I enjoyed the book overall and felt inspired to begin learning about a couple other things that caught my attention.
I deeply enjoyed most of the aspects of this book. The characters are quirky but relatable, the world building well paced and based on a very original concept. I don't know any other books in this universe but I didn't feel like I'm missing any important details. It's definitely a feelgood read, perfect before bed or for a lazy sunday. Overall story progress is fun and intertwined with bits of narrator's commentary and own thoughts. Pretty fun to explore it from that perspective.
One other thing about this book is that some jokes just didn't land. As if the author was trying too hard (or perhaps my own sense of humor didn't align). It didn't stop me from enjoying all other things about this book. Highly recommend!
One of my favourite books of all time! The story, the universe, the philosophy (+ great artwork in the polish edition) are all there. Masterful world building including religions, history, ecology, technology, cultures and more. Such a shame that the following books in the series don't live up to this one. This is a truly unique book.
You don't really need to read this book in 2025. A lot of the content is dated and not applicable anymore. Some core ideas are still valid but those could be narrowed down to a couple of pages. There are a lot of links in this book to external websites or products that don't exist anymore. A lot of technological solutions suggested in this book are outdated. This books needs a major revision to be applicable in today's world. Tbh, the most relevant part may be the last chapter with book recommendations, which is where all original ideas came from and have been collected and rephrased in this book.
2 stars are for: collecting a bunch of concepts (80\20 principle, low-information diet, smart outsourcing, creating systems that work for you, entrepreneurship) and providing motivational success stories and examples that inspire you to continue on your business journey.
Heartwarming and uplifting. Somehow this book makes you feel a little bit better about yourself. I remember reading it a few years back and I'd like to revisit. Full of silly stories and small laughs. The drawing style may not appeal to everyone but that's just how it is, I enjoyed the stories anyway.
This book changed the way I look at money and investing. I could say it was groundbreaking for me at a time when I read it. Very easy to read, good tempo and an interesting message.
