SOOOOO CUTEEE
only reason its not a 5 is because didnt get too much into the storyy, but im excited to start the next volumeee.
The book was very gripping, and a fast pace that kept me hooked throughout .There were some parts included that I felt were there just to make the book longer.
I appreciated how it felt like a movie and the way it built an atmosphere of tension and suspense. However, the way it ended felt a bit too neatly packaged. It seemed simple, and even though I correctly guessed the creator of the chain, I was anticipating an additional twist that never came.
I read this authors other book The Island a while back and that was a 5 star! So will def be picking up more books from Adrian Mckinty soon!
The book is of a chance encounter that tangles the lives of 7 high school students, each resisting the allure of one of the seven deadly sins, and each telling their story from seven distinct pov's.I started the book not expecting much, went into it without reading the blurb or anything.Sometimes I like to predict my ratings for books and I predicted this to be a 3 or even a 2.5 star read but as the book went on some of the things the characters said/did/thought hit a bit close to home.Because those things they said/did/thought were things I said/did/thought most of the time it felt like [a:Riley Redgate 14053196 Riley Redgate https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/user/u_50x66-632230dc9882b4352d753eedf9396530.png] had digged deep into my mind and written it in a book.I actually found out about the book through a tiktok where if you love the tv show you will love the book and the tv show associated with this book was Riverdale. But I also think that if you love the show pretty little liars you would love this book coz its more or less the same minus the suspense and tension. You can check out the quotes which I loved by searching for seven ways we lie quotes and click on the goodreads link or you can check out my YouTube and Instagram coz I will be uploading a video and post about it soon:)Link in bio:)
Cant decide...is it a 3 or 3.75?Read this if you love books about;-Rich people drama-Family relationships-strong friendships-Great character development-There were topics such as bullying, domestic violence which I think [a:Liane Moriarty 322069 Liane Moriarty https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1459827224p2/322069.jpg] handled really well.-Plot was well planned out and no plot holes. This was honestly so hard to get into and during 3 quarter of the book I didn't get why this book was so hyped! But the last quarter picked up and it was just okay. Also I realized after reading this how much I hate books with rich people drama,no kidding! I love watching movies etc but books? no thank you.I loved Madeline she was so funny and sweet(really bossy too but her friendship with Jane and Celeste made up for it) I was also really shocked by that twist didn't see that coming. With that being said I recommend you pick this up and you might end up loving it:)Also I don't think this is a thriller more like a mystery?Damn Perry, man I am so glad he died what a fucked up guy.grrrr I was so mad during most of the book coz of that piece of shit. And when he died I was sooo glad! Not only does he rape girls in bars he uses his cousins name not to get caught?! And the way he used to hit Celeste!? I was so angry abt that too, the author had brought out really well how domestic violence victims act coz the person doing it has some excuse to justify their action dont they? I have so many bad things to say abt ppl like that, but I might get taken off gr so I will stop here.

So glad I finally finished this!
This has been on my currently reading shelf for over a week.
Review to come soon

Go into this expecting a ghost story and you might not get disappointed. Coz as a ghost story its good but as a romance book not so much.
If you haven't read the book yet, its best to go into it as blind as possible and you might end up getting surprised by it.
(might change rating later)
Guys!!! I didn't expect to like this book this much :0 :0
Like whatt
At first it was very confusing yes, but as the book went on it became much easier to understand and digest. Even though some parts did go over my head I really enjoyed reading this!!:))
Now I regret not getting the 2nd and 3rd books from d library:(( coz i want to start them ASAP!!
3.75
So beautifully written, once you start reading this it was so easy to just get lost in the pages. And I felt so relaxed while reading this, so cozy.
I found this book in my dads collection when I was abt 12/13 after I had finished exams and was looking for something to read. And it was so insightful. I have reread it so many times and each time I read it I get a different message from it.
I keep it around with me and read it whenever I need some advice or help.
Highly recommend if you are a teen coz it gives very helpful advice in terms of school life, when dealing with parents/friends, addictions, etc
Also this is the only self help book I've read and loved (I read fiction mostly)
This took me sooo long to finish a week to be precise! And it gave me major IT vibes and at first I liked it but as the story went on it became kinda annoying:(Also it was really creepy at times coz it was set in a very spooky atmosphere!“As you get older, it [time] all begins to blur into one. You start to think life was never any kind of straight line. It was always more of a ... scribble.”Didn't expect the twist but it wasn't so shocking I saw some reviews saying that [b:The Whisper Man 41940236 The Whisper Man Alex North https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1541864083l/41940236.SY75.jpg 63202631] was better so maybe I should give that a go? The plot sounds interesting for that too so I just bumped it up my tbr:)
3.5
I have very conflicting feelings abt this.... coz on one hand I really enjoyed the book and the story but on the other hand it was so boring and I didn't care whether most of the characters lived or died(ik it sounds rude im sorryy)
Also im pretty sure I skimmed through a bit of the book, coz I just wanted to see who the sniper was and the entire reason behind everything.
Which brings me to ‘the reason', I kind of guessed it? But it wasn't like a few pages before it was actually revealed so I wasn't too mad abt that.
Overall I enjoyed my time reading this and the parts that kept me on the edge of my seat.
Ps: Cant wait to read AGGGTM!! Soooo excited for that onee
2.5 star
The description didn't prepare me at all for what was to come...the plot kept me turning page after page.
I was halfway through the book and it was abt 2.30 am and I asked myself ‘do you want to finish the book tmrw or finish it now' and I chose the most obvious answer.... To finish it now.
So I finished the book at abt 3/3.15am and let me tell you it was like I was there in the book with Mira facing what she was facing, I didn't feel like the reader at all, more like a passenger in the car and to think the person she was fearing was more closer than she thought.
Abt 3 quarters into the book I found myself shivering a bit by Mira's thoughts and her instincts
I lovee the original! And I love this even more! I just flew through it in a matter of hours. After reading this I really wanted to reread the original book so might do that in a few days!

One of my new favs!!! Finished it in a matter of hours and wow was it amazing!!!
It has everything I love in a thriller;
1)A snowy setting ✔️
2)Isolated ✔️
3)A cozy inn ✔️
4)Characters getting killed one by one ✔️
5)Fast paced ✔️
6)pov from all the characters in the book ✔️
The only reason I didn't give this a 5 star rating was number 1; the book was very short
number 2; the ending..unfortunately the ending fell a bit flat for me and it dragged quite a bit but overall a really enjoyable read and highly recommend this for a cold day:))
4.75
Oh wow when it ended I wanted to cry, coz I enjoyed being in this world and it felt like I was saying bye to a person who was so close to me.
Also one of the easiest 4.75 stars!! And another thing, if you know me..I HATEEE long chapters in books with a passion but in this I was just flying thru it coz this book was AMAZING!
The book is divided into 6 parts and the author narrates the story in multiple POVS. Which I found really interesting because we got to look at the situation from all of the characters perspectives.
The book touched on many important topics which opened my eyes to many of the situations we face in our day to day lives.
Fav characters: Jude and Reese for sure!
Went into this hoping for [b:The Mindf*ck Series 44799982 The Mindfck Series (Mindfck, #1-5) S.T. Abby https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1554575415l/44799982.SY75.jpg 54013122] vibes and I def got it. So if you loved the mindfck series I recommend checking this out and vice versa.I am gonna try n finish the rest of my lib books asap and get to the library so I can get the 2nd and 3rd books!!
3.5
Def interested in the story to keep going. So as soon as I can get my hands on book #2 will continue:)
On a side note,I wish there was an actual academy like Ellingham academy coz it sounds AMAZING!! Like I was LOVING all descriptions of the area, the facilities, etc
Let me start by saying that this book gives you a whole new meaning to unreliable narrators. You don't know who to trust and even though it was so boring from the beginning towards the end you start getting invested in the story. But it will take a good 60% or 65% to get invested coz like I said before this is a SLOW burn.
Also the story felt so repetitive.
However at times it felt like you didn't know who to trust coz the perspectives sounded so true and when it switched from the husband to the wife and from the wife to the husband, you feel so confused coz you don't know who to trust. The author had done the povs from the other characters also really well!
Overall, this is an ok thriller, not much twists and turns, not a fast paced thriller but it was good.
Trigger warnings for: Mental health and Postpartum psychosis.
Thank you so much to NetGalley, Caroline Corcoran and Avon Books UK for the ARC.
