I was flying through it, until abt 70% and then everything started to feel repetitive and I got so bored I was skimming thru the lat 30%.
But there was the part with Buck where I COULDN'T STOP LAUGHING. I WAS DYING
overall rating is a 3.8 starIndividual ratings for each novellas;Hannah and Garrett-5/5Logan and Grace- 4/5Dean and Allie- 3/5Sabrina and Tucker- 3/5 Might change ratings later on:)I feel like the reason Tuck and Sabrina's novella got the low rating(evn tho they r my fav couple) is that they didn't need to have so much bad things happening to them. It was like one bad thing after another and i was here like why? why why!!!But Garrett and Hannah's novella was the cherry on top I LOVED IT!!!I do wish we had gotten more of the pregnancy, the elopement, and the marriage vows coz that would have been amazing!Sad that the series is ending coz I LOVED THE ENTIRE THING!! One of my fav series of all time and I might start [b:The Chase 34851664 The Chase (Briar U, #1) Elle Kennedy https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1530890863l/34851664.SY75.jpg 56089158] next but want to give myself some time to process this series first:))
Changed my rating after discussion w book club. Too many plot holes and overall a VERY DISAPPOINTING read.
4.5
I felt like I was reading someones biography, it felt so real.
What I loved most about the book was the love Maverick had for his children, even though he was very young he took care of Seven so well that some parts had me tearing up coz it was so heartwarming.
I loved all the family relationships and friendships too!
Overall an amazing book! Read this if you haven't already:)
Enjoyed this book immensely! Particularly the writing style...
Telling the story from every characters pov was what made the read enjoyable.
I am someone who enjoys a good plot twist and the various plot twists throughout the book fulfilled my expectations.
Highly recommend this book
I spent some time trying to figure out what to write for this review, because I dont know where to start it:(
Soo hmm lemme see firstly it took me more than a YEAR to finish itt because it was so slow paced and it wasnt intresting enough to keep my attention, secondly there were so many povs and it was harder to distingusih some of them from each other because they sounded so similar, thirdly the ending....im not sure what to make of ittt.
The book started off strong, was very meh in the middle, thenn it picked up and i was intrested in wanting to know what happened next but I was so underwhelmed by the ending:(
Another one of those books idk whether to love or hate.
Typical rich people drama I felt like. The entire book was kinda predictable tbh and even though some of the twists were unexpected it wasn't like “whoaa wtf did I just read
??” kinda unexpected, it was more like, “oh ok thats it? moving on...“
So pick this up if you are looking for a short mystery filled with typical rich people drama
THE TITLE IS A FREAKING SPOILER!!!!!!!!!I went into the book knowing that the wife was still alive coz the title literally said the wife(Bea) upstairs, so I knew that the wife was still alive somewhere upstairs. Also idk if Jane was dumb or just choosing to ignore the obvious signs. I mean come on noises upstairs, fiance not asleep with her in the nights, food finishing fast. If I were here I would have been a hella lot of suspicious just coz of those weird noises
I saw many reviews saying this is a Jane Eyre retelling?!! I didn't know that till I saw them lol.
4.5
If you loved the book as much as I did, “Fist my bump:)”
Wow I didn't expect to love PHM this much!!
I teared up towards the end while reading a few scenes coz it was just so heartwarming and beautiful.
4.5
This was such an informative and eye opening read.
I love the style in which the authors used in their teaching. I also love that there was a lot of diversity to include many identities under the ace spectrum. Another thing I really appreciated was how they included people asking questions because most of the questions they asked were what I had been thinking about too.
This book is particularly valuable, taking into account how destructive it tends to be for individuals who are simply beginning to address themselves to go online for answers, on the grounds that similarly as it's said in the book, the web can be loaded with hate and ignorance towards ace individuals as many people don't even try to understand what the other person is going through.
PLEASE READ THIS. It is such a helpful book for educating yourself and others.
Thank you to Oni Press and NetGalley for giving me a digital copy of the book in exchange for a honest review.
Loved the entire concept of the book and coz of that I was so excited for it but it was so underwhelming....I almost dnfed this but decided to finish and in finish I mean I skimmed through it.
This goes to show that holiday romances are just not for me:(
I was getting annoyed by so many aspects of the book like when they were not able to communicate with each other, there were so many issues that happened that I think could have been solved by communicating and it was SO FREAKING FRUSTRATING!
I did love the des of the various food which is why I gave it 2 stars:)
3.25
Like all the other Freida McFadden books this was very fast paced, engaging, kept me hooked but the ending really let me down I didn't like it.
Throughout most of the book it felt like it was a 4 star or 4.25 but that ending lowered it down to a 3.25.
“I don't think your problem was stage fright. Or wedding fright. I think your problem was life fright.”
What I didn't like;
This is one of those overhyped books which wasn't for me.
Before starting the book I thought to myself, this is a short book it will be very easy to get through but boy was I wrong. Yes, it is short and has short chapters but the words are so heavy to digest that after reading a sentence I had to reread it to grasp it.
And what everyone says is correct this is a self-help book disguised as a work of fiction.
I buddy read this with some amazing people and honestly speaking if it weren't for the buddy read I prob would have dnfed this.
-As always there's the good and bad to books and here are the things I liked in the book;
I connected to Nora on a certain level it's a bit hard for me to understand in what level but I felt connected to her during those first few chapters.
The words were heavy, but I loved the writing style.
Some beautiful quotes which you can see below.
Sometimes regrets are just....a load of bullshit
Some things about the book which confused me; I felt that a part of the reason why Nora didn't like most of the lives she went into was because she didn't know a thing about it, she was always very confused when entering each life.I am actually kinda glad at the way things ended, coz if the book had ended with Nora dying I prob would have rated it a 1 star.
This took me so long to read:(( but towards the last 50 pages or so only it began to pick up.
The beginning was good, middle soo boring and the ending page TURNING.
Towards the end I got chills, coz of everything that was happening but I feel like if the book had been shorter it would def have gotten a 5 star from me!
The last page ended on a cliff hanger, I think we have to imagine what happens next but I wish we had actually gotten the rest coz it left me hanging.
I am thinking of writing a review that will make people understand how much I loved this book but I am still in the process of trying to wrap my head around what happened in it.
Ill try to list them ;
The things these girls had to go through in the garden and the author portrayed how even though some of them escaped how the aftermath is probably just as hard as being in the garden. Because of how much trauma these girls went through.
I loved how each chapter(part) with the detectives was intertwined with a part of them in the garden.
I am going to stop there coz if u haven't read the book yet its best to go in as blind as possible:) But do search up the tws for this because it might be a lot to handle
I enjoyed this book....
I really love how the author captured the story from both the twins pov.....and the story was so well written.
The way the story was written I felt as if I was the one experiencing all those feelings.
Loved it
Highly recommend if ur someone who likes stories about twins etc..
“Love isn't always pretty. Sometimes you spend all your time hoping it'll eventually be something different. Something better. Then, before you know it, you're back to square one, and you lost your heart somewhere along the way.”WOW would you believe it if I said I finished this in 4 HRS!?!?If I could rate this a 10 out of 5 stars I WOULD!!this is amazingg I was scared to pick this up coz it was an over-hyped book but it lived up to its expectations and much more!“God gives us the ugliness so we don't take the beautiful things in life for granted.”I didn't cry and I was glad for that but Mile's backstory broke.my.heart into a million pieces. I wasn't a fan of him at first but as the story went on I started liking him more and more.“It's the beautiful moments like this that make up for the ugly love”Another reason I didn't want to pick this up was coz it had the fwb trope but it was so much more than that, this book will take ur heart and break it into a million pieces and then fix it a bit and give it back to you...If the above reasons are whats putting you off from reading the book don't hesitate to read it...coz you might end up loving it!I wasn't able to think of anything at all after reading this which is surprising coz I didn't even expect to like it. “I didn't fall in love with you... I flew.” Saved the best quote for last :) [a:Colleen Hoover 5430144 Colleen Hoover https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1464032240p2/5430144.jpg] how do you do this?!! I LOVE THE MANGA AS MUCH AS I LOVE THE BOOK!!! AHHAHA ITS amazingggg!!
When is 2/4 coming out?!?! I CANT WAIT!!
I recommend reading this if you have already read the book coz this one shows Cath's feelings and thoughts, etc and its so flipping cute!
And wow I LOVE LEVI!!! He is soo cuteee and adorable
V slow at the beginning but the pace picked up, towards the end I was just flipping pages trying to see how it would end. Pick this up if u want a thriller to just immerse urself into:)If the book had been shorter I think I would have given it a higher rating, coz I felt like this was too descriptive.Gonna be reading the sequel [b:Almost Dead 545881 Almost Dead (The Cahills #2) Lisa Jackson https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1388193359l/545881.SY75.jpg 533154] to see what happens next!
The book was ALOT like pretty little liars. We have the typical setting, a group of friends, the popular girl gets killed and someone knows all the deepest, darkest secrets of the rest of the group. And that someone intends on making those deepest darkest secrets known to the entire school. Sounds familiar right? The book was very, very predictable coz of the reason mentioned above, I thought that this might be my new fav coz I loved Pretty Little Liars but sadly it was very underwhelming.I wasn't very satisfied by the ending(I saw somewhere that there was a second book, so maybe that was the reason the book fell flat for me).But I did enjoy the book, I enjoyed the plot I just think it was too similar to Pretty Little Liars.I wish [a:Katie Zhao 17899195 Katie Zhao https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1522611037p2/17899195.jpg] had gone more into depth about the characters (coz they sounded like a really interesting bunch) and made it a bit too hard to guess the ending.Overall a good book but predictable ending.
