4.5This has a very slow start, but the payoff was EPIC. I love the characters and their relationships and some parts had me so close to tears.I had low hopes for this one coz I wasn't a huge fan of [b:The Shadows 60316938 The Shadows Alex North https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1650844320l/60316938.SY75.jpg 74223629] but this one was SOO good!! Def recommend:))
I am LOVING this manga series!! And the twist in this one! woww
Also I love how theirs a specific message in this abt social media and the bad and good which comes from it. Def recommend this series:))
Idk how much of this book is true but wow I knew there was some controversy surrounding Enid Blyton but I didn't know to what extent.
I don't think I will ever look at her books the same way again knowing what went on behind the writing process.
The part that I was caught by the most was how she said in her magazine or smthg how a real mother should not be working, but being attentive and taking care of the kids but in reality she did the exact opposite of what she said.
Def worth a read! Specially if you loveddd Enid Blyton's books as a kid:)
3.5
Reading this feels like reading Harry Potter but without the magic and the magical creatures. Lovee the vibes of the academy and the various activities.
3.5
Loved the atmosphere and the vibes from the book but the ending was so confusinggg:(
3.75
This book was so slow that I almost wanted to dnf it! But as it kept going the tension started increasing and it suddenly turned into a nail biter.
Its full of twists and turns, and leaves you guessing right up until the last moment!
And that final twist? I was shook! WOWW....didn't see that coming
However there were a few parts which were so confusing which is why I am giving the book a 3.75 rating but overall it is a great read! Highly recommend:)
Also I just realized that this is part of a series but it can be read as a standalone as well because I didn't read the first few books but I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything.
4.5
So creepy, eerie, scary and intense. My fav by Ruth Ware so far!!
I loved the backstory abt the house and abt the biologist and his poisonous garden, it was very creepy and eerie! I wish we had gotten a letter from the solicitor coz I feel like the book ended on a kind of cliffhanger? coz we didn't know what happened to Rachel
Beautiful message for kids♥️ Really enjoyed it♥️
The only thing is I wish the book could have been longer with more stories....Other than that...Loved it!
3.75“Some people appear happy on the outside and you only know they're broken inside if you listen as well as look.”You can never go wrong with [a:Alice Feeney 15904689 Alice Feeney https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1484753445p2/15904689.jpg]. This is my 3rd book by her and I have one more ([b:I Know Who You Are 45419076 I Know Who You Are Alice Feeney https://s.gr-assets.com/assets/nophoto/book/50x75-a91bf249278a81aabab721ef782c4a74.png 56880666]) to finish and then I will be done with her backlist! I LOVE her writing style its so fast paced and very easy to get through. Also in her books, chapters are very short so that's another bonus point! For a debut this was pretty good, but the ending might seem a bit too far fetched for some coz in classic [a:Alice Feeney 15904689 Alice Feeney https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1484753445p2/15904689.jpg] style she threw all the twists one after the other in the end but I enjoyed it! What I didn't enjoy was the open ending, in thrillers I love when everything is tied up with a neat bow but in this we had to keep on guessing the ending and unfortunately I don't like that.“Sometimes I think it's best to say nothing at all, silence cannot be misquoted.”Also if you want to predict the twist you NEED to pay CLOSE attention to all the clues she leaves throughout the book and I mean CLOSEE attention, coz I got abt 3/4 clues perfectly and I was kinda mad that I missed the other clues. So to get/predict the full twist/ending perfectly PAY CLOSE ATTENTION;)“I've hidden memories in boxes inside my head before. Sometimes it's the only way to deal with things.”So yeah..do I recommend this? DUH!! Read it!!! “It can be dangerous to ask a question when you already know the answer.”Also I have a question how did she get the pov of a person in a coma? did she guess it or get it from a person who has actually been in a coma? Coz I feel like it was done well:) (how ironic is that quote right above this
I think you need to have a lot of patience when reading this, coz its SO confusing. Like I finished reading the book and I'm still so confused lol.
The twist was surprising yes, but like I said I am still very confused.
Loved the gothic and spooky vibes. But I wish we had gotten to know more about the ‘him' mentioned.
Would def recommend this for spooky season coz it gives all those creepy gothic mansion vibes.
Giving this a 3 star rating because I still dont know if I like this book or not.
“The truly frightening flaw in humanity is our capacity for cruelty - we all have it.” The buildup was perfect, and I remember thinking to myself This may be my fav book by [a:Gillian Flynn 2383 Gillian Flynn https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1232123231p2/2383.jpg] (and I have read all her books) but the ending was such a letdown. I loved that the book had past and present timelines, and I loved the past timeline more than the present one coz it showed us how each character had become what they were in the present. It was also told from multiple povs and we got to see each person's thoughts, feelings, etc...But I feel like when I was abt 3/4 into the book, it was not any close to revealing the killer but I loved how the story was progressing so I didn't mind it. But like I said before the ending was such a letdown. However, I must say from all of [a:Gillian Flynn 2383 Gillian Flynn https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1232123231p2/2383.jpg] books and characters Libby may be my fav from all of them. Also, this is a rare occurrence but I like the movie much better than the book.
Started off very confusingg but as the book went on it got more clear and the confusing povs intertwined in a way that it....wasnt confusing anymore
Going into this I knew that A.R.Torre wont disappoint and it didn't. Fulfilled all my expectations.
I loved d multiple povs and how it alternated between d povs. The twist at the end left me a bit confused but I really enjoyed itt. Def one of my fav books and a very unique plotline.
Def recommend! Actually anything by A.R.Torre, I highly recommend!
The only book I haven't read by her yet is Every last secret should get to that asap.
Going into this I went into it with little to no expectations and I was blown awayy. The twists and turns, the gothic atmosphere, the suspensful and thrilling aspect, how fast paced it was; all elements I love in a thriller!
Finished it in a day tooo thats how you know its good
Grumpy girl gets fcked by sunshine boy, so boring I took 6 months to read upto 25% not spending more timeeeeeeee on itt
3.75
This book took me on a roller coaster of emotions. First it was thrilling, annoyance then thrilling, annoyance, relief and finally shock
