Very thought provoking...In this age of individualism do societal norms still play such an important role?
Simply incredible. Easily one of the best fantasy novels out there. I love the epic scope of fantasy (Wheel of Time, A Song Of Ice and Fire, etc.), nonetheless it is wonderful to read a more...focussed fantasy novel, with a single main character.
Ususally, I find the first few pages of a fantasy novel hard to read but it is exceptionally easy to immerse yourself into The Name of the Wind right from the first page.
Even better than the first book. This IS the best fantasy series without a shadow of a doubt.
A lovely story put together beautifully by Sarah Hall. My favourite (non fantasy) book of the year by miles.
I was interested in reading the trilogy ever since I first read a review. Finally got my hands on the first book today. It started off nicely but I got slightly bored in the middle. However, once the Hunger Games actuall started the story was just amazing (I especially loved Rue).
Can't wait to start reading Catching Fire.
P.S. Do I smell a rebellion?
Very entertaining.
With the help of a wonderful cast of animals it tells us that without honest leaders any revolution is futile.
The book was everything I expected it to be and more. I picked up the first book 5 days ago and immersed myself in Panem.
I loved all the characters from the start. This is one of the few books where the less important characters...Rue, Prim, Cinna made such a big impression one me.
The only part of the book that left me unhappy is the ending. Somehow I don't buy the happily ever after. It doesn't feel real. Apart from that I think the story was pretty much perfect.
Catching Fire is just amazing. Much better than the Hunger Games. Everything is set up perfectly for the events in Mockingjay.
A wonderful book. I've studied some of the basics mentioned in this book and they would have been so much more interesting if they'd been put forth in the way Stephen Hawking has.
Along with Future Shock, A Brief History of Time is one of those ‘entertaining' yet ‘informative' book that everyone should read.
The plot became more and more interesting...but the end of the story is so unexpected. That should make you like a novel more but in this case it just ruined everything. I didn't really know what to think or feel....
