Couldn't get into the book at first,until I switched to the audiobook and listened to Barack Obama's amazing voice, storytelling skills and story.

Really enjoyed it at first but got confused about one third in: where is this leading to? Which can be good, if that becomes clear later on. It just didn't for me. Or it surely did not have to take 500 pages to get there... Had Gogh expectations of this book. Clearly, it did not live up to it.

What a beautiful book! Touching, light in all its heaviness, it sucked me in. Bit long maybe at points, and yes, potentially unrealistic at others, but none of that stopped me binge reading this book. At the end of the forelast chapter I felt it should have finished there, but then the very last chapter did touch me so much again I now understand it wasn't done yet.
Time for something happy to read now though!

Bit of a slow start, but as it went on I got more and more into it. Nice development of plot as well as characters. Curious about the next ones now!

Mwah... ok storyline but the writing style annoyed me. Maybe it was the (Dutch) translation, or just not my cup of tea. Too tried on the one hand, too simplistic on the other.
