In this next book about the Baudelaires, the orphans try to make research to know more about VFD and other informations the Quagmire triplets gathered. But of course Count Olaf would not leave them alone.
To be honest I was a little disappointed but this book. With the end of the other I really thought that much more informations and actions were to come. But it was still enjoyable, it's easy to read or listen to and I love the characters and the writing that bring so much humour in this quite dark story. I will obviously continue.
For me the last 2 and an half hour were too much. It was juste Annie complaining about something she had control over, again and again and again. The rest of the book was cute and fun to read, but I don't think this book will leave a lasting mark in my mind except for the mention of L'amour est dans le près, a French show that I used to watch, and didn't know was known outside of France.
This book is perfect if you are looking for something funny that will give you all sorts of feelings. I fell head over heels for Alex and Lauren. They are cute, have great benter and both represents problems we all encounter in our relationships. With that I really love the references to fan fiction and novels in general. But I think that what I loved the most was the tender side of Alex. He is one of those cinamon rolls who is not afraid to express his feelings, to cry.
Amy, a real bookworm and romance lover, is competing in a contest to win the chance to interview, in front of other people her favorite romance author.
As she is secretly completing the first task in the middle of the night, she meets Toff. Her longtime crush and only way not to be arrested for being out after curfew.
As days pass she realises that the only way for to have a chance to win is to be coached by a winner.. Toff.
First of all I was just not the target audience for this book clearly. It's written for a younger audience, and if I read it when I was in high school or a little younger I would have probabl been obsseced with it. It's well written, easy to read and to follow. It's full of references to popular book that all bookworm know about. The plit is great too, there is a real story and goal that drives the characters together, it's well paced. But I'm just too old for it.
this book made me laugh, cry, feel excitement.. just everything !
The plot is just the dream of every fangirl. It mixes tv shows and books and fanfics. WIth this boo I realized I really loved the secret identity trope, I was just screaming for Marcus to tell everything to April. I also loved the whole authenticity of the book, except the premise of the celebrity dating the fan there were so much moments were I told myself “that's exactly it” for example the plus size representation : we see throughout the book the people surrounding April giving her advices for her health supposedly or what she should eat or do without thinking that it could be something else or hurtful, every fat person exactly knows that ! I liked that during sex scenes there were desciptions of stretch marks, so much women have them for hundreds of reason but even in plus size romances they never mention it. And lastly I liked the fact that april's taste was not described as something sweet, every woman knows that it's just a lie but every romance describes it as honey like for example. It quite balanced the premise of the book that is not really realistic.
I also liked the representation of difficult relationships with parents and the fact that we don't owe people, even the one we loved, forgiveness.
This book was just cute, fluffy and super sexy. I would love to see the second book about Alex and Lauren, they seem to have a really fun and cute relationship.
I love so much this book, i was a little “afraid” because i read the fault in our stars which is one of my favorite book but i also read looking for Alaska and.. i was desapointed not because it's not a good story or because i don't like the way it was write but because i find it a little similar. But an abundance of Katherine is my favorite with TFIOS ! it's just so funny and even if i hate math it was interesting and Colin is different compared to other character like him. i love this road trip !
This book was the book I needed. A perfect setting, vacation like and deep characters.
This book has really a great balance : funny moments and funny characters, but it also has great characters with real depth and issues that are universal. It talks about abandonment issues and trust issues due to past relations. The great gesture of the end got me really emotional too ! It's really a book that I recommend especially during those times.
