I can't recommend this book enough. Her insights about our internal lives and challenges...I can't explain it. She's just so succinct and intimate in her responses to the people writing in. I think this is a must-read for anyone going into social work.

Somewhere between 3 and 4 stars. Fun at times but I was constantly pulled out of the story going, “oh, the author is doing this, that's clever, that's stupid,” etc.

If there was a new project to tackle with Izzard's charisma, wit, and persistence, it's writing more. Although I am glad to have learned his inspiring story, the content reads kind of sophomoric and boring because he lists a lot of information instead of diving deeper into self analysis. Also it could have used more humor.

That being said, I would love to read a book of witty essays by him in the future.

I kept reading for the study of infatuation, self, feminism but all the art world references and analyses went over my head. Women being self destructive while being public is a cool idea. “Performative philosophy.”

Can't finish. meh.
