I've loved Jonathan ever since he started on Queer Eye. This memoir gave me a deeper look at his life and what he's had to endure to get to where he is now. It was funny, raw, and emotional. Reading his story made me love him even more. What made this even more of a 5 star read for me was listening to it on audiobook. I could feel all his emotions as he read his story. Such a great book!
Absolutely adored this book! It was so much more than I thought it would be....magical, emotional, beautiful, so many things. Stores where the character discovers secrets and things about their family are some of my favorites and this one tops my list. It was so well written and definitely kept me wanting to read more. Highly recommend this book.
This book had me feeling so many things....anger, sadness, hate, love....every emotion you could think of. I was glad that Kellen was there for Wavy when she was younger and didn't have anyone else. But on the other hand, sometimes I felt like their relationship went a bit far when she was a child. Do I like how it ended? I'm still not sure about that....
This was one of my most anticipated books of 2019. Probably because I love romantic comedies and Tom Hanks. This book follows Annie who dreams of meeting her “Tom Hanks” and having a fairy tale rom-com romance. Annie gets a job working on the set of a movie filming in her town and soon meets the lead actor, who couldn't be further from her ideal “Tom Hanks”. I'm sure you can guess what happens next. As I was reading this I definitely felt like this was something that could be made into a romantic comedy movie. It was cute, funny and a quick read. Highly recommend if you love light, fluffy, contemporary romance books.
This book was one of my most anticipated books of this year and it didn't disappoint! I laughed, I cried, and felt so many other emotions while reading this book. The friendship between the three girls was so real. It felt like I was right there experiencing everyone emotion along side of them. Definitely one to read!
Good read...although I didn't expect it to end where it did. I thought there would be a little bit more to the story.
I'm always intrigued by thrillers, especially this one since it was so hyped up. I expected to love this book based on the premise....Girl gets stranded at a rest area during a snow storm, notices a kidnapped girl in a van....you see where this is going. Most of this book had kept my interest, however there were a few parts that just felt like they could have been left out. How many times can they mention her cell phone battery percentage? Little things like that were why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. I've heard that this is going to be adapted into a movie. I'm looking forward to see how the adaptation is. Overall, if you like thrillers you'd probably enjoy this one.
This book had me feeling all the emotions! I laughed, I cried, I smiled. Such a great portrayal of what it's like to be transgender in today's world and how hard it is to come out to your family and friends. I instantly fell in love with Morgan from the moment I picked up this book. Definitely one of my favorite reads of 2019. After reading this and If I Was Your Girl, Meredith Russo has become a favorite author of mine. I can't wait to see what she writes next. Highly, highly recommend this book!
This book was talked about and loved by many people I follow on social media (youtube, insagram, goodreads). The main premise of a friends to lovers romance is one that is right up my alley. I picked this up, expecting to love it, and I wasn't disappointed. If I hadn't seen other reviews of this book I would have expected a less “graphic” romance book based on the cute cover. The only reason I gave it 4 and not 5 stars is that some of the scenes were a bit much for what I wanted at the moment. Other than that, it was a cute fun romance book.
Read this for August/September Bookopoly prompt of reading a Romance book and August/September book bingo challenge of reading a book with a purple cover.
This book has been on my TBR list forever. Wicked the musical is one of my favorite things so I thought I would love this too. Boy was I wrong! This was so hard to get into and didn't hold my interest that much. Definitely don't go into it thinking it's going to be exactly like the musical cause it's not. I can't even say too much about this book since I was just so uninterested the entire time. It was a great concept but not written well enough to keep me entertained. No wonder it took me so long to read it.
This book gave me all the feels. I was only on page 3 when I shed my first tear. I had flashbacks to the exact moment and day the towers feel. Pretty early on I figured out why Noah was obsessed with one of the men in the photograph, and if it wasn't for that I might have given this a full five stars. It was a quick read full of lots of emotions!

Wow! This was the first book I've read in a long time that I couldn't put down! I've never read anything by this author before...now I need to read more from her!
Ellie Mack goes missing and what follows is what happens 10 years later. Laurel, Ellie's mom, is trying to put her life back together and meets a man and his daughter. Something is not right about them the girl reminds her so much of Ellie. A little more than halfway through it flashes back and you find out the mystery of what happened to Ellie. I couldn't put this down at that point!
Reading this I had some idea of what was going to happen, but I never expected the ending to turn out like it did. Lisa has a great way of making you fell like you are right there with Laurel as she learns what happened to her daughter. I have so many emotions after reading this...so many that it's hard to write them all down. 100% I'd recommend this book for anyone that likes psychological thrillers. What a great book to start off the year with!
This was absolutely the cutest book I've read in a long time! I don't normally read graphic novels, but so many people have been talking about this book. So when I saw it at the library I had to pick it up. I immediately sat down to read this when I got home and read it all in one sitting. Absolutely adorable!
This is a story about a prince who secretly likes to wear dresses at night and how he has to hide that from his family. He meets a dressmaker and asks her to make all of his dresses. It shows how their friendship evolves and how he finally has to come out to everyone and tell them who he really is. It's a story about how we shouldn't have to hide who we really are inside, which is something we all need to remember these days.
I'm definitely having my daughter, who's 11, read this. I think she'd enjoy the cute artwork, the story line and the overall message it portrays. I now want to read some more graphic novels like this since having read it!
This book took me a while to actually get into and enjoy. Once I got about halfway into it the story picked up and I enjoyed it a lot more. Still trying to process my thoughts on this book as it dealt with some heavy topics such as rape and sexism.
I finally got around to reading this book that has been on my TBR for the past year. This book definitely lives up to the hype surrounding it. Diving into the life of Hollywood starlet Evelyn Hugo was a wonderful journey. I loved hearing about how she got into movies and about all of the people in her life. The story line between Evelyn and Celia was one of my favorite parts of the book. Towards the end of the book it got a little emotional for me, but I love when books do that. This was an excellent read that I flew through in one weekend. Highly recommend to anyone who likes stories about the lives of celebrities, even fictional ones!
What a beautiful, magical story. I loved reading the story of these 4 siblings. When they were children they visited this woman who told them each what day they were going to die. Reading from each one of their perspectives, following along their journey was a great way to tell the story. I felt so many emotions as I was reading this book - anger, sadness, happiness...definitely a book that will stay in my heart for a long time.
I loved this book as much now as I did when it first came out. This series is so magical and I'm looking forward to re-reading the rest of it. This will forever be a book I hold dear to my heart.
Wow...this book was such a great read! At first I wasn't sure if this was going to be an exciting book. As I read more I learned the secret that the couple was hiding and couldn't put the book down.
The book starts off talking about Grace and Jack. It goes back and forth between when they met and the present day. To everyone they meet Grace and Jack seem like the perfect newlywed couple. But what they don't know is what really goes on inside the house when nobody is there. Grace had no idea about Jack's secrets when they first met. She was just so in love and do excited to have her downs syndrome sister Ellie come live with them in a few months. Not long after they are married Grace learns of Jack's secrets. They do their best to hide what really goes on in their home from their friends and family.
I couldn't put this book down... desperate to find out more about Jack. I kept wondering how Grace would manage and get herself out of the situation she was in. There were lots of twists and turns in the story that kept me on the edge of my sest the entire time i was reading. I didn't expect it to end the way it did but it was still a great way to end this book. I can't wait to see what else this fabulous debut author has planned for us in her next book!
This book...definitely one you should pick up! You know right from the start that someone dies but have no idea who killed them. I love how the book talks about everything that lead up to that night and leaves you guessing the entire time. The drama between the mothers felt so real, like something you'd actually see these days. Another great read!
How have I never discovered Diane Chamberlain before? I've recently read two of her books and each time I read one it makes me want to read more of her novels. The Secret Life of CeCe Wilkes was recommended to me by a friend a while back. I finally decided to pick it up and boy was I glad I did!
The book starts of with CeCe falling in love with a man a few years older than her named Tim Gleason. CeCe was young, naïve and just wanted to please Tim. When Tim and his brother come up with a plan to try and get their sister freed from prison, they ask for CeCe to help them. Little did she know that when she said yes her life would change forever.
From the first page until the last I was kept wondering what CeCe was going to do. Would she say yes to Tim's plan? What was going to happen after she said yes? Several times the book had me angry at CeCe for things she did...angry at some of the other characters as well. Despite some of the choices I didn't agree with I still wanted to find out more. I loved the way the author switched points of view from CeCe to another character towards the end of the book. It was interesting to see what the other character was feeling at that point in the story.
This book will not disappoint just like the other books of hers I've read. I'm looking forward to reading more of Diane's books in the future!
Absolutely loved this book! Karen Kingsbury has once again proved why she is one of my favorite authors!
I really enjoyed this book. I definitely want to read more from this author after reading this one. It was a really good romance story and had all the tropes I love in a romance.
Picked this up based on the reading challenges I am doing for August/September. This is one of my niece's favorite book series and since it fit the prompts I thought I'd pick it up and see why she loves it so much. It was definitely a quick fun read. I loved reading about all the fairy tale characters and seeing them all interact with each other. This is definitely a series that I could have seen myself reading back when I was in middle school. I could totally see this being made into a series on Netflix. Lots of fun and interesting characters in this book. Highly recommend for a series to pick up and read together with your children!
Listened to most of this on audio book and it was very well narrated.
